Could be a case of familiarity (Rielly-Brodie, Muzzin-Holl, Giordano-Liljegren) winning out, or maybe it was just that Lyubushkin had yet to be the one to sit as the newest (Giordano as the exception to that) add? We'll have to see how this one plays out. GLG!!!

You’d have to think they’ll really limit Muzzin minutes and usage to start.

Last 3yrs, minimum 850min:

And our boys did that as the top matchup pairing with the toughest zone starts to boot.

I'm guessing we'll see a bit of a rotation on D for the next few games, a lot of potential pairs. Boosh doesn't deserve to sit, and Keefe said as much, but neither do Holl or Liljegren. Holl is starting to look like his old self (I'm a bit concerned about them going right back to Muzzin-Holl though, and hopefully Keefe knows when to pull them apart if things don't look good). Liljegren and Gio have been lights out and despite lower minutes have been getting their fair share of time against top opposition.

Thank god Lilly made the grade, hopefully top minutes with Gio.
Rielly with Bush was not a good look.

Regardless of who sits, this is the answer. We need 7 or 8 capable D-men for any kind of playoff run. I am not linked to one player or the other, I only wish that whoever is in there gets the job done; depending on how Muzzin plays, we will be at a solid 7. At the end of the day I am a Leafs fan... these guys just happen to wear the jersey.

Eh it's just my opinion on who gives them the best chance to win when the games count. I'm just shit on a stick like everybody here.

I just keep reminding myself the days of Dermott and Marincin are long in the rearview. Knowing we have Sandin (if healthy, himself) as a potential help if an injury strikes as well as Lyubushkin is so much more comforting than Dermott and Marv.

Likely because we have 6 top-4 defenseman, and Lyubush is a fine #6.

keefe always liked holl muzzin pair

hes hoping muzzin raises holl's game just like gio has for lily

I'm not surprised to see any d-man sat that isn't Rielly, Brodie or Giordano (Muzzin is based on health). Depth is a wonderful thing.
