couple of things i've seen talked about.

the first jived with what i felt when watching the game. our Fs were not doing their jobs. our D pinch. that's our style. generally, we attack the puck everywhere. that's how we kill exits, generate turnovers, retrieve pucks. that works when everyone is in sync and players are rotating into position to cover for the aggressiveness. what happened a lot in the 2nd period was our Fs lost their discipline, were too low and to make matters worse, did not make great decisions with the plays/shots. the PDOcast guys talked about this and maurice referenced shot selection as an issue last game. on the whole, our game was pretty good but there's some room for improvement there and that's fixable.

the second, i just saw on NHL now and hadn't noticed as much during the game. their forecheck was great and our D did a poor job responding. yeah, ironic. we were constantly turning into short ice and into the teeth of their forecheck. our support guys were skating hard enough to be in position and guys like jones turned the puck over a ton. one of those turnovers led directly into the GWG.

i think maurice put it well. when the panthers score 3 and 4 goals on the road, you'd expect a win. the issue isn't on the offensive end, it's maintaining the discipline to avoid those situations that lead to a track meet, where our odds go down quite a bit.

a few tweaks and we can turn this around tonight.

I noticed Jones gacking up the puck a few times. Each time it seemed he had a better place to go with the puck, but chose otherwise. He makes me nervous, right now
