Leafs org makes deal for Slavin

Toronto Marlies Sign Josiah Slavin – Toronto Marlies

The Toronto Marlies announced today that the hockey club has signed forward Josiah Slavin to a one-year AHL contract.

Slavin, 24, split this past season between the Rockford IceHogs and the San Diego Gulls. With the Gulls, he recorded four goals and three assists in 16 games. Through three seasons with Rockford, Slavin appeared in 115 games, registering 24 goals and 26 assists. The Erie, Colorado native was selected in the seventh round (193rd overall) in the 2018 NHL Draft by the Colorado Avalanche.

A few years ago folks were trying to push a trade for him to the Leafs for absurd returns (like for Nylander/Marner). :sarcasm:

Funny he ended up a minor leaguer here

I don’t remember anyone offering the youngsters but they were willing give up Gardiner and some other plugs, somehow thinking the Leafs were much better than Carolina.

The Leafs announced today that they have signed 24-year-old Josiah Slavin to a 1-year AHL contract. Slavin spent last season in the AHL and split time between the Rockford Ice Hogs and San Diego Gulls.

Slavin spent 3 seasons with Rockford where he registered 50 points in 115 games before registering 7 points in 16 games with the Gulls at the end of last season. The 6'3 center will likely find himself in the bottom six for the Marlies forward group this upcoming season.

Slavin is the younger brother of Hurricanes' defenseman Jaccob Slavin and was selected in the seventh round in the 2018 draft by the Colorado Avalanche.

I cant tell if this is satire or not but that was for his brother Jaccob who is still currently a stud for Carolina
