Agreed but also every possible opponent has added a major piece. We need to capitalize on Matthews. This might be his peak.. Most forwards peak at age 24.

I would have liked Chariot at the right price. Lindholm was a no go unless Leafs were going to get a guaranteed extension and find the necessary cap. He is apparently looking at a 7-8 year deal. Hard pass for me.

I still say the Leafs should just pursue a mean backend. With the forwards willing to play both ways, it''s not difficult to perfect a simple outlet pass. It's the front of the net and physical play that the Leafs D needs to excel at this postseason. Reilly, Brodie, Sandin and others can carry. Leafs need unpleasant D.
