From what I've seen they look like a heavy hitting team which is the kind of team that tends to beat the leafs, especially when they have a great goalie.Nashville is largely a poor team being carried by two unbelievable seasons from Josi and Saros.
we should beat them but they can be annoying.

He looked pretty good. Nothing too spectacular. Just fairly steady and positional sound. We can assume the new goalie starts? Haven’t seen him play yet, looking forward to it.
Amen to that.He looked pretty good. Nothing too spectacular. Just fairly steady and positional sound.
Let's see if that continues.
The Leafs don't need a Vezina finalist, but just someone who stops the pucks he's supposed to stop and doesn't beat himself-- or beat himself up afterwards either. Fewer softies and surprises.
We beat them 3-0 earlier in the season
They were also missing Forsberg and this was at the height of Campbell's season too.And the score flattered the Preds because the Leafs absolutely dominated that game. Arguably their most complete performance of the year.
Which is fine...unless the team really starts to become too much of a one trick pony offensively. There's a good amount of cap invested in Tavares and Nylander, and the team possibly can't afford to only offer the one look in the event other things clearly aren't working out well enough.People are forgetting Marner and Matthews want to play together and he is keeping his two biggest stars and leaders happy and bought in. It's not as easy as switching names around. Together is where they give their best efforts.
I think it's because Tavares looked absolutely dominant playing with Marner. Matthews/Marner are both capable of carrying their own lines, Tavares/Nylander haven't shown that consistently enough. I do love have a stacked top line, but having two extremely lethal lines would be something else. It's all about getting the most team output based on certain combinations. Why is everyone worried about the lines our scoring wasn't the problem it was the goaltending
Good post, though I also think JT has thrived with a big body grinding finisher in the past (like Lee). He seems to be able to play the role of provider or scorer but needs his lineup to be one of those things predominantly. Nylander is a both kind of player too so it doesn't work great it seems. Also the speed difference isn't helping as Nylander gets a lot of rush chances.I think it's because Tavares looked absolutely dominant playing with Marner. As individuals, no doubt Matthews/Marner benefit the most by playing with each other, but for team success it may be better to split them up and have 2 extremely dominant lines. To get the most out of Tavares he needs a good playmaking winger, Nylander is a good player but he's not Marner.
aaaand it's Mason Marchment, take 2.Last game for Travis Dermott. I really thought he could be a top 4 here but he was passed by Holl, Sandin and now Liljegren. Too bad.
This maybeAny official lineup? I figure it will be something like...
Bunting. Matthews. Marner
Nylander. Tavares. Kase
Mikheyev Kampf. Engvall.
Kerfoot. Spezza. Simmonds (back on roster)
Rielly. Lyubushkin
Brodie. Holl
Sandin. Dermott
