The strike's (X, losses, etc.) value is only truly revealed after the next result (ball).

If we come back with a good effort and a win vs the Devils on Wednesday, I chalk this up to a poor first period and some luck against (3 posts); this becomes a blip on the calendar.

If we come back with a loss for any reason vs the Devils, this loss hurts a tad bit more.

Am I the only one who thought we played a good game ? Matthews 2 off the post, Spezza hit one off the post. Nashville just buried their chances, scoring chances were tilted in our favor. That was a questionable penalty call that led to Nashvilles 4th goal, I'd like Kallgren to get that save but overall he played a strong game. It was a close game, Nashville just buried their chances and that was the difference, respectable effort. It be like that sometimes, on to the next one. Oh and Matthews/Marner looked dominant again.

Side note, I f***ing love how Ekholm and Josi play the game, absolute studs.

Nashville came to play early, we chased the game ever since. Sincerely feel like we tie that game if Clifford doesn’t take the dumbest penalty on the year.

Kallgren looked good for the most part, but we just knew it was a matter of time before he was bit by those rebounds. Goals 4 & 5 shouldn’t really happen with even ok rebound control. But it’s not like he was getting much help on either goal either.

Gotta start on time in these games, it was ultimately the difference in the win and loss tonight unfortunately.

Tavares actually set Bunting up wide open in the slot. The scoring chance isn’t even the same. Tavares was on a bad angle and it was a forced pass by Matthews. People bitching and expecting him to do anything there are delusional..

Tavares could have shot it. Or he could have looked around and assessed the situation and made a pass. I’m sure an $11 million elite centerman can figure it out.

this team won’t win a single game in the playoffs. They will be swept in the first round again. The goaltending is dog**** and the complete team for that fact is absolutely terrible. The coaching is awful, the management is awful and Shanahan needs to be shown on the door. This team is an utter failure.

Dubas better not trade the 1st for Gio, he sucks.

It was a good warm up game for the Leafs.

They should have a better idea about what to expect now that the season is getting real for everyone.

They put a much better effort into the game probably when it was too late.

A completely senseless penalty, a penalty that would have accomplished nothing, killed their comeback attempt.

They should know by now what to expect. There are no more warmups with this group. Why do teams like Boston and Tampa not need warmups but we do annually? It’s a tradition that when things tighten up down the stretch, we start playing like crap.

The same game plan will be in place come playoff time again. Take away the slot, make it hard to get to the net and play physical. We’ve watched it happen every year, no need for anyone to try anything different.

I really hope that they stand pat at the deadline. Nothing they get is going to put them over the top against much better teams in a seven game series.

Keep what few draft pics you actually do have, make some changes in the off-season, there’s no need to waste what’s not going to make any bit of difference. They don’t have the goaltending to cover up their poor defensive zone coverage. Petr Mrazek will just hand deliver the game against any team he faces, Jack Campbell will probably still give up four goals a game and you can’t rely on a rookie to bail this team out.

The first line was absolutely great. Our second line was absolute trash, as has been the theme for the last 3 1/2 months.

Clifford Brings absolutely no value to the team, why they re-signed him completely baffles me to no end. He’s horrendous.

I don’t really have anything else positive to say about this game, yeah they were much better after the dismal first period, that’s what happens when you don’t play 60 minutes, you lose by double. The better team won tonight.

I was excited for the playoffs until 2022 hit and then our team fell off the face of a cliff and continue to keep falling further and further and further. I have no excitement left, zero.

There was pressure coming and Matthews dumped the puck on him when he was in the corner. Again, if there is warranted bitching I’m all for it. But people are literally overreacting to that play, he tried to put it on net at a bad angle after surprisingly receiving the puck. He missed, big deal. But you can’t fault him given the position Matthews put him in there. Matthews has the angle and should have shot it.

Kerfoor easily replaced

Nylander no balls lazy and too disinterested at times. Elite when hecwants to be but not consistent disappears for too many games

Fourth line is a joke. They can all be replaced

Everybody knows how to play our Leafs. Hit em hard and they will fold with no pushback. Especially in playoff style games. Hopefully next management and coach group will weed out this team weakness like Rangers did. Sadly, no hope this year.
