Post-Game Talk: Leafs lose

Thought we had a rough first and built well from there. Played loose to close the game late and it cost us.

Feels like we've lost a lot of Saturday games recently
 
No shame in that loss.

Went into a tough barn, against a heavier, better constructed squad, with an excellent goaltender, and got pushed around... Battled until the end, but the better team won. That "playoff" style of hockey has gotten the best of the Leafs for years now. We shouldn't expect a different result in those situations at this point.

On to the next one!

Not to mention one is a rookie and the other is a fake ass “franchise” center who’s never captained a team to anything.

His crowning achievement was leading the Isles to one series win. I doubt he’ll even accomplish that in a Leafs uni.
 
91 - 88 brutal together yet again. Both a -3. Continuously get outscored, I don't understand why we can't change things up. Its insane at this point. They simply do not work together. JT should have had a hat trick easily. Wonder how he is doing mentally. Kase might be done forever. We need a forward desperately.

It was a good warm up game for the Leafs.

They should have a better idea about what to expect now that the season is getting real for everyone.

They put a much better effort into the game probably when it was too late.

A completely senseless penalty, a penalty that would have accomplished nothing, killed their comeback attempt.

@Stephen what the hell did you want him to do in the corner there? There’s pressure coming and Matthews have it to him on the worst angle possible. Matthews has to shoot there…

Tavares actually set Bunting up wide open in the slot. The scoring chance isn’t even the same. Tavares was on a bad angle and it was a forced pass by Matthews. People bitching and expecting him to do anything there are delusional..

Agreed.

But i'd rather Matthews gets lots of goals than win more in the regular season.
 
They bounces didn’t go in their favour I don’t think kall was to blame on most of those goals except the 4th one. He played well. The leafs got pushed around and it showed that a grinding style of play can stifle our offence high tempo. Nashville is good but I don’t think the leafs couldn’t beat them in a best of 7 series. Tavares is trending in the right direction had a lot of good looks and was engaged physically.

What else is new in Boston. Somehow they get him cheap when he has zero history whatsoever with them, just like they do everyone else.

JT and Nylander are not on the same planet as Marner and Matthews right now. Clifford sucks and I'm sick of this team insisting on playing either him or Simmonds every game. I just want to see one game where we ice the best possible group of players.

Yup, the top line was able to break through it which was a positive. But the rest of the team couldn't do a thing.....

Great timing lol. This team is a source of mental health disorder (just a joke before anyone gets serious).

Selfish penalty by Clifford did not help their cause.
 
Dermott sucks trade now

Holl double sucks was a pilon all night
Killed his goalie because he is so soft couldnt takeca check
Kallegren took the penalty because the preds forward blew by holl like he was standing still

Kerfoor easily replaced

Nylander no balls lazy and too disinterested at times. Elite when hecwants to be but not consistent disappears for too many games

Fourth line is a joke. They can all be replaced
