Crazier things could happen, but the Leafs have no chance against either florida or tampa imo...

Muzzin is already wondering if he should even give a shite, has anyone with half a cc figured that out yet...

Nylander is just enjoying his quest to be the best he can be. Which is great actually, cannot ask for much more.

Matthews is engaged, for the most part...

The muskrat who wanted to be the most loved Leaf of all time, is in the corner with a dunce hat, wondering how he let his father put him in a position to be the most reviled Leaf of all time..

Guy was commissioned to get an 11 million dollar wrist shot in the off season, and bought a speed boat and got married..

The talented Mr. Mitchey......still no shot and somehow nabbed 11 mille...

Get rid of the talented no shot whiner, and Holl, and sure, with great coaching, this team can go places..

There is little hope for the Leafs post season chances...

Two major pieces have to be moved, and nhl gm's won't give you much for either or both of them...
Jeeesh get out and enjoy family /friends during the holidays... take a break; hopefully come back next year with a little less bitterness and actually just love the Leafs.

That is it! we certainly are losing because we are missing our 11 million dollar winger, who is on a 72 point pace, hasn't scored a post season goal in 18 games, has 2 goals and 12 point in his past 19 post season games, hasn't score a powerplay goal in over 100 games and his #1 center (Matthews) is currently producing at a higher offensive clip without him in the lineup.

Think the question might be - could we be better team if we spread his money around

Whoa whoa whoa! Slow down with their marner facts! The Paul marner crew will be after you in no time!!!

just imagine if we could have that selfish clowns cap space back to help out this d core.

Honestly I felt like we were the better team and probably should have won. Holl is absolute garbage, like Brett Lebda type of garbage. Just scratch him or waive him or something, he's awful.

Matthews has had 2 points at even strength since Marner's injury. His expected gf% has dropped at a pretty good clip. You are just lying. If it wasnt for some decent powerplays, Matthews point total would be down. To argue that Matthews is better without Marner is high-end trolling and I know you wouldn't want to be involved in that. You have always been sensible.

Lilly and Rubins had really good games. Muzzin and Holl were terrible hopefully Keefe keeps them away from each other.

Fourth line without Spezza looks very
different.

excited to see what this team could be like if everyone was healthy

Holl is dogshit, really feel like he brings down Muzz most games. Wouldn't hate seeing him traded and seeing Lilly playing top 4 beside Muzz.

Honestly Muzzin is as much of the problem lately. They're both moving and thinking way too slow.

How has Campbell been put into a bind when he's thrived in the number one role, to the point the Leafs are tied for league lead in points and he's entered the conversation for the hypothetical US Olympic Team? If you asked him, I'd sure he's happy where he is and wouldn't want to be going back and forth in a platoon situation.

I would imagine if Mrazek were playing much more than on the B2B's the fanbase would be screaming about it given how well Campbell has been playing.

I hope we're not burning the Soup

Jack has played a lot more games than he's used too.

Edit: Holl needs to be upgraded for a better RHD. We didn't really know what we needed to upgrade at the trade deadline, but we know now Imo.
No, we always knew.

Its tough when the only defensive pairing you can rely on is Rielly - Brodie. Really sloppy game from the team in their own end and even sloppier in the neutral zone.

Goal 1 against - Muzzin turns it over at the offensive blueline. Tampa heads back the other way and for the most part it's 3 on 3, but both Holl and Muzzin go to the same guy and Kerfoot is a step or 2 behind the play.

Goal 2 against - Muzzin tries to clear it. Kase sticks his hand out and knocks the puck down. Puck falls to 91 at the top of the circle and he blasts it home.

Goal 3 against - Holl carries it to the blue line and gives a 2 foot pass to Nylander. He tries to send it to a changing Muzzin. Muzzin doesn't expect it and it gets turned over at the red line and it goes back 3 on 2 and its off Nylander's stick.

Goal 4 against - Rielly tries to reverse the puck along the boards. Brodie overskates it, Stamkos centres it to Raddysh for a nice shot.

Goal 5 against - Empty net.

For the most part, the Leafs pride themselves on the transition game with an active defenseman often joining the rush and then activating in the offensive zone. For a majority of the start of the game, the Leafs were pushing play and looked like the better team. When they got sloppy and away from there strengths of moving it up the ice quickly, they got scored on.

The pair of Muzzin - Holl is not working. I'm not sure if it's the defensive coach dictating that they should stay together or its Keefe, but they have to circle the first 3 goals and say, if this is your shutdown pair, what are they shutting down?

Tampa's execution is really something else when given the chances. Toronto had those chances as well but you can see we aren't able to execute 3 on 1 chances, 2 on 1 chances or breakaways really well.

I thought we played a decent game overall but Tampa was better. We had some mental lapses, and turn overs that really cost us which shows we haven't really bought in to the system Keefe wants to implement.

Just admit it. Marner us a very good player at 6m$ per.
At 10.5m$ he is a liability. He is not a loved team mate, he has talent but shooting a puck is not one of his better talents, he disappears in the spring and try playing the game often like a peewee.
Yes, he has great nights, but more bad nights.
The marner Stan’s will never admit the truth. It’s incredibly weird

Wasn't able to catch the game, just looking at the ice time it seems like Liljegren started taking over his spot with Muzzin as the game went on.

Was that the case? Hopefully it was and means Holl gets moved down (or out of) the lineup once Dermott is healthy.

They played decent. Had Holl resembled even an AHL calibre D last night it probably wouldve been a W for our boys.

Campbell had a rough night, not to blame him since the majority of those goals came from pretty bad defensive collapses. Not his usual self though.

Marner missing has been a huge blow. Tampa is good at filling major injury holes in their roster, this team cant.

Ya, Lilly moved up about half way into the game.

Do you know the quality of player that is paid 6 mill per year?

At least be realistic. Marner should be paid between 8.5-9.5 mill and no one is going to argue that he is worth his contract. But my God the hyperbole to tear him down.

He was awful, turn overs in our own zone and neutral zone. If I'm not mistaken 3 goals were directly because of him and Muzzins turnovers. He's really really bad at hockey, he cost us the Minnesota game and this one. We played more than well enough to win, but those giveaways were brutal.

Muzzin deserves equal blame, he was just as bad last night. But Holl has just been consistently garbage so he gets more heat. He turned over once to Katchook or however you spell it and Muzzin saved an empty net goal.
