Yeah. The Leafs would have lost by more if Marner played
That is it! we certainly are losing because we are missing our 11 million dollar winger, who is on a 72 point pace, hasn't scored a post season goal in 18 games, has 2 goals and 12 point in his past 19 post season games, hasn't score a powerplay goal in over 100 games and his #1 center (Matthews) is currently producing at a higher offensive clip without him in the lineup.

Think the question might be - could we be better team if we spread his money around

what about a talented team TB making great shots .
why is it that everyone blames the goaltender .
Stamkos and Raddysh great shots

Soup also made some great saves.
The other goalie let in similar goals to Soup.... looks like Leafs just allowed more odd man rushes. Didn't watch the game but the highlights look like the same ol' leaf mistakes leading to odd man rushes - leaky leafs.

When the hell is Mrazek coming back. His getting injured twice in quick succession really has put Campbell in a bind ffs - get in the game already AND STAY HEALTHY!!! Did we buy damaged goods?

Tampa made some pretty big gaffes themselves. As much as we'll rave about that matthews faceoff, basic attention to detail and focus stops it giving them a lead at the end of 1. Then there was the hilariously bad Sergachev coverage on the 4-3 goal. We're capable of more and better, but we shouldn't pretend Tampa played a perfect game.

At the end of the day we put 2 pucks behind Vas that didn't go in, shot a puck in our own net and ended up with the loss because of it

They didn't play a perfect game, but our gaffes proved costly...Tampa has back-to-back Cups to lean on...they know how to win and have won 5 in a roll, and missing Point and Kucherov...seems like the Leafs are still learning.

Just one of those games where Leafs dominated 5 on 5 play but every mistake ended up in the back of their net. Tampa has played this game quite a few times especially in the playoffs. Skilled players bury their few chances and Vas in god mode.

Costly turnovers lost them this game and Tampa came through with opportunistic scoring

The positive is they carried a lot of the game 5 on 5 and scored a pair on the PP.

The PK needs to tighten up.

Always seems we take two steps forward and two steps back each year. Would've been great to keep Bogosian and McCann and lose Holl to expansion.
There’s zero chance Bogo was signing with any Canadian team. Covid border restrictions were tough on him and his family

How has Campbell been put into a bind when he's thrived in the number one role, to the point the Leafs are tied for league lead in points and he's entered the conversation for the hypothetical US Olympic Team? If you asked him, I'd sure he's happy where he is and wouldn't want to be going back and forth in a platoon situation.

Tampa clearly has a championship gear in the sense that they could just turn on the jets and capitalize on every significant turnover the Leafs had. I think it's a good lesson and reminder that even if Toronto did a lot of things well tonight (and while down a few players), this is one of those opponents they can't count on outskilling. They have to be on their absolute best behavior against a team like this.

Had center ice box seats for this one, courtesy of my work. Wish they got the win but an exciting game for my first in the covid era.

Not Campbell's best night. The team defense overall has been a bit off for the last handful.

On the plus side I ate 3 steaks, 5 porkchops, some shrimp tacos and my fair share of beer so...not the worst night. Onto the next!

Let’s sum up the game...mediocre goaltending and horrific defence by Holl and Muzzin. We expect it from Holl, but Muzzin was horrific. Giveaways like turkeys from Honest Ed’s.

yes you're right - I did not express my opinion well and used the wrong words. I meant to say put the Leafs in a precarious position, with Mrazek out we have to rely on Campbell and a very inexperienced and not ready for prime time young goalie, with an unreliable Hutchinson waiting in the wings. Campbell has been great, I just worry it all hangs on him and that wasn't the plan

Anyone who can read body language can tell Muzzin cannot believe he is playing besides a Growler level dman now...

Marner is despised and not missed. again, show me one pic of him and Willy even looking at each other after an on ice goal, forget a fist bump...

Things are easily fixed, but it all starts with getting rid of Holl and unfortunately, giving away a selfish whiner for a bag of fancy pucks...

The way to beat the leafs, is shut down marners passes to Matthews...

If Marner somehow sticks around, its thanks to the brilliant ever improving play of Bunting, because, everyone is tired of his act...

His hissy fit at practise, was, something, even Pierre Luc Dushame would be embarassed of...

Justin Holl is playing so badly, hard towatch...And Keefe keeps rolling him out...

The creativity of Sandin, is sorely missed...

The genius of Spezza, same up front.

People, should watch tonite LFR with Steve dangle. The theme of today’s LFR is that in all likelihood, the maple leafs, who by a human event in a pandemic that hasn’t happened in over 100 years and because of said pandemic were gifted “GIFTED” the worst playoff team statistically in Columbus in 2020 and the worst playoff team in 2021 in Montreal and still lost, will be playing one of Florida or Tampa. And as astutely pointed out, Tampa didn’t have kucherov, point or cirelli tonite. What will be the ultimate leafs demise is first and foremost the top 4 defence is not good enough defensively and secondly, depth scoring.
Because every year, I feel like cheering this team on is like getting on a nice scenic train ride, you see the beautiful mountains, some wildlife, the sunset is beautiful, but you know at the end of the train excursion is they didn’t finish the bridge and you will plummet to a horrifying death.

Crazier things could happen, but the Leafs have no chance against either florida or tampa imo...

Muzzin is already wondering if he should even give a shite, has anyone with half a cc figured that out yet...

Nylander is just enjoying his quest to be the best he can be. Which is great actually, cannot ask for much more.

Matthews is engaged, for the most part...

The muskrat who wanted to be the most loved Leaf of all time, is in the corner with a dunce hat, wondering how he let his father put him in a position to be the most reviled Leaf of all time..

Guy was commissioned to get an 11 million dollar wrist shot in the off season, and bought a speed boat and got married..

The talented Mr. Mitchey......still no shot and somehow nabbed 11 mille...

Get rid of the talented no shot whiner, and Holl, and sure, with great coaching, this team can go places..

There is little hope for the Leafs post season chances...

Two major pieces have to be moved, and nhl gm's won't give you much for either or both of them...
