Not even sure what this teams identity. Like 5 days ago we played a very solid game against a top team, and then play whatever this was. Not even sure what Dubas' plan is for the deadline at this point. We seem to, struggle a lot more on the road, not sure if it's a coaching thing or not.

He needs to be demoted to show the team that no one is above playing hard and putting a full effort forward.

The fact that he is above any sort of response to his poor play is sending the wrong message.

The thing is I really think JT is trying, he's just so so sluggish. If you demote him you honestly might never see him in a top 6 role again unless he's able to get it going against third-string competition. However, he doesn't even look average against 2nd string competition I don't know how realistic that is. Hindsight is 2020 but Nylander-Kadri- A Kerf upgrade would be so nice right now. You'd also have more $$$ to upgrade the D.

Funny enough, Holl was the only D, to not have a goal scored against him while he was on the ice, but was on the ice for both goals for. Rielly and Brodie were on the ice for three goals against.

Once again, Tavares/Nylander/Kerfoot had a round night 5v5.

Brodie's been struggling a ton lately. A lot of uncharacteristic penalties and fire drill defense all over the place.

It's not that they can't. It's that they aren't the type of players who will anymore, outside of Matthews.

JT used to be able to, but just isn't the player he was, and doesn't seem interested in battling hard anymore.

There is nothing wrong with Marner and Nylander not being willing to grind and battle - but you need a complimentary roster for them that you just don't have with league minimum players rounding out the lineup.

Posts like this remind me of the awesome pushback Kadri showed to get suspended 3 times in the playoffs and cost his team all 3 times.

It was really unfortunate that JT was destroyed by Perry in game 1. Last season should have been their best opportunity to make it to the finals.
