Im not worried about Florida. They haven't won shit since 1996. They are in the same position as us, but worse. I don't know why anyone in the league would fear them.

It's not that they can't. It's that they aren't the type of players who will anymore, outside of Matthews.

JT used to be able to, but just isn't the player he was, and doesn't seem interested in battling hard anymore.

There is nothing wrong with Marner and Nylander not being willing to grind and battle - but you need a complimentary roster for them that you just don't have with league minimum players rounding out the lineup.

I watched Tampa/Florida series last season. It was freakin' INTESNSE. It was perhaps the best series of the playoffs. No way Leafs have the galls to match that intensity against either team IMO

He needs to be demoted to show the team that no one is above playing hard and putting a full effort forward.

The fact that he is above any sort of response to his poor play is sending the wrong message.

I mean really last year everything went right in the regular season and they had the chance make a serious run... but they still flopped the playoffs.

So this regular season doesn't mean much to me .. hate seeing them lose like this but shit happens. We all now the core and playoff time is was really matters.

That being said this team is going nowhere without goaltending.

Team needs to learn to battle through adversity. As much as these games suck, it does challenge them

I watched it too. Tampa is their biggest rival. They get up for those games. Fans are way more into it too, which raises the intensity. When we play them, 3/4 of the building will be Leaf fans. It wont be like that.

Only positive is if those two points cost the Habs Wright. Mrazek was Habs best player. Spezza the only leaf that played like he cared. They desperately need an energy banging line during games like this.
