Post-Game Talk: Leafs lose to MONTREAL. This team is no gangsta. Lyubushkin is needed, hard.

Can we remove Holl from this team already?

I am sure the analyics say he was great... but really, what team is going to trade for him? We can send him down and he would get claimed... but I cannot see any sane GM giving up an asset for him.

I get it, everyone was bad... but he is rarely good... and has the hockey IQ of a peanut it appears... apologies to Mr Peanut.

I admire JT trying to fight through whatever he's fighting through, but it's ok. You've done your best JT and we appreciate you. Please take your much-deserved break at beautiful Robidas Island. All-Inclusive, all expenses paid for our shining captain.

Yeah, tend to agree. If he's legitimately banged up it might be time to consider some ocean front property on Robidas Island. I think the Leafs envisioned more of a dominant superstar center than a guy trying hard.

50% of the cap aka core4 caught napping.

completely unacceptable!!!

Worst part of it all was the Matthews-Marner duo. Kept outside all night and they didn't do anything different or adjust their game. Keep forcing the cute bullshit. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE ANYMORE

Learn to adjust your game or else it will be another quick playoff exit.

If I am dubas I don't bet on this core until I see they can adjust in game when things aren't going their way, No more 1st rounders to help these guys; who don't help themselves.

Pathetic!

No not an overreaction. It is the same every time with these Core4 guys. THings get tough they go into a f***ing shell

Very much so this.

I mean really last year everything went right in the regular season and they had the chance make a serious run... but they still flopped the playoffs.

So this regular season doesn't mean much to me .. hate seeing them lose like this but shit happens. We all now the core and playoff time is was really matters.

That being said this team is going nowhere without goaltending.

Toronto was up three games to one against this team in the first round last season. That's how, because Toronto sucks.

Our defense is one of the worst in the NHL, our goaltending is god awful. Offense will only get you so far.

i don’t think the defense is one of the worst but it’s not as good as many want to believe. There are way too many mental gaps. They are not top 5 like I’ve read from some on this board.

Kyle Dubas' time with the Leafs is coming to an end.

Wife and I were talking about this in the second period...

Wonder what the play will be after the playoff blood is spilt? Does Dubas get a chance to trade some of the core? Would he even agree to it? I really don't feel Keefe is even an ounce of a problem here... but does Dubas have to fire him? Does Shanny have to go too? Which of the core gets traded? Juicy juicy fallout incoming in about 10 weeks based on this bullshit.

On the flipside, does Dubas make any major adjustments at the trade deadline? This team cannot win without the forwards fully committing to supporting the defencemen... our D are not good enough as a unit to fend for themselves.

Dubas already bet his career on this core, and if they fall out of the playoffs in the first round again, his career as a GM likely ends.

He will be doubling down hard now, expect him to mortgage our future even further.

Hockey post game press conferences suck. JT hitting us with the cliche’s, what’s new

St Louis gave every coach the key to beat the Leafs, stick to Matthews and keep Marner outside, then pressure the D that sucks. You can bet that every team will try to do what St Louis did. Granted, it's easier said than done but if the lowly Habs can do it so can other teams.

This team needs a goalie that will bail their asses out, not one who lets in every mistake we make (granted this team makes A LOT of those lately). Petr Toskalol and Jack Raycroft aren’t that goalie.

exactly! He’s gone if they don’t win a round or two this year. He’s going to move that first

Man this is what scares me. I hope Shanahan has the balls to tell dubas "NO"

He's going to move everything not nailed down.

The sad news is that I'm not convinced there's anything he can do at this point to win a round.

Tampa or Florida both match up really well to us.

Shanahan will be shown the door also, so you know he's all in too. If they lose in the first round it's a likely full back office overhaul.

Frankly, they all deserve it for not sticking to the plan and rushing our rebuild with the JT signing that was completely unnecessary and ruined any opportunity to have a proper balanced team.

Well, and repeatedly signing horrible contracts for which there are no comparables in the NHL.
