Why can't Keefe recognize that Tavares is too slow for OT? There are so many other options... I never feel comfortable when he's out there in a 3 on 3 situation.

Because Tavares makes $11 million and he's gonna play, whether he fits or not, dammit!

Tavares should have been enjoying OT on the bench. Not that he was particularly awful and deserved to be skipped but in a track meet 3 on 3, we would have been better with Engvall and Mikheyev who are long bodied, speed skaters who can break up an attack and counter rush like on a PK. There's just no time for who deserves what.

It's only for the regular season anyways. I do agree that tnere are probably better options 3 v 3.

I think JT just needs to adapt at this point in his career. Drop a little weight and work with someone on his stride in the offseason. Even if he got 5% faster it would help.

Maybe it's confirmation bias but the last quarter of the season he has looked horrible. Either way, he could have played that one alot better IMO.

Leafs seem to have lost all momentum they had going for them going into the Tampa game. They took their foot off the gas, got beaten down so hard and are now going to limp into the playoffs. Nice.

I still can't even wrap my head around the line of thinking that went into that Tampa game. It was just so stupid to treat that game as meaningless and it looks like Tampa has woken back up again. And now we get to watch them continue to pay for it tomorrow too, as they have to go back to Kallgren

He was the Leafs best player tonight.

I fail to see how not scoring in a game(4) after scoring 51 in 50 is some sort of issue. Law of averages is working against him.

Bunting is more concerning to me right now. We've been assured over and over Matthews is minor. Bunting's looked minor but those are the kinds of injuries that seem to end up worse.

He’s very good at mooching points off the work of PP1 unit.

Kadri or any equivalent center would have more points, making less, racking up secondary assists on the league’s best PP.

Kadri: 8 goals, 7 primary assists, 13 secondary assists.
Tavares: 10 goals, 9 primary assists, 7 secondary assists.

Keep pushing that narrative though.

We showed that we can play with these guys. And they're about as good as they come. I was happy with the effort.

How many two on ones have we had lately where we didn't even get a shot on net? Like wtf? I'm pretty sure that we even had a two on none recently with no shot on net. We have to be better at taking advantage of these. You can't score if you don't take a shot at the net.

So many good teams this year in the east. Just unreal
Florida is a good team, simple as that. You don't win 13 games by fluke and there's Tampa
Then there's ever green Crosby and Ovechkin
Rangers and Panarin /Shes.... A good emerging team

Gonna be tough I tell ya

Last year was definitely a once in a lifetime chance. We are probably going to face in the first round this year who Leafs should (could) have faced in the Cup Final last year.

A win against TB could create.the belief they can go as deep as they want. A disciplined defense and willingness to play physical will be the determinent.

Winning games 3-2 and 2-1 has to be an acceptable approach.
