In no world is Boosh a better option than Holl
Holl can atleast move the puck, Boosh can't.

Boosh looks better because of his willingness to hit, that doesn't mean he's a better D than Holl

The fact is, D starts with forward. We didn't hem their D in, we didn't make life difficult for their D
Weager is a great D, but he's not exactly Nidermyer. He was skating around like he had all the space in the world

Montour entered our zone few times where he could have been hit by our forwards. They could have stopped him at the tracks

Keefe needed to call a timeout after that goal. Give his goalie a breather. Give his team a breather
He eventually does the right thing, when when he's tried everything else

Not going to overreact to tonight.

Back to back, but also their 8th game in 13 days and they're 6-1-1 in that stretch, playing a really damn good hockey team.

In that stretch, they've played Florida twice, Tampa, and Boston. They've shown they can hang with the big boys. Give as much as they can take.

Sucks to blow a huge lead like that, and before I die I'd love to see Rielly play a 2-on-1 properly just once.

But no need for an overreaction. Get some rest, dust yourself off, and finish strong in Dallas.

All I ask is that they don’t blow 5-1 leads multiple times in a season against our division rivals. Is that too much to ask?

It happens to the best teams. Recency bias and confirmation bias make it seem like only the Leafs do this.

The Leafs have been really good at holding leads this year. Record speaks for itself.

This is the greatest and worst part of fandom. Living and dying with every game/period/shift.

Gotta love sports!
I asked the question earlier in the thread and was genuinely looking for an answer because I'm not sure...

When was was the last time a contending team was up by 4 goals and lost? Curious how many times it has happened this season, for example, to any of the top 4 teams in the East?

Its happened to the Leafs 7 times since the noted playoff collapse and in that same time frame no other team has done it more than 3 times.

Holl needs to be the one sitting, not Lybushkin. 3/4 points can't really complain too much, but we should've closed that one out. Kallgren was horible, soup was ok but meh. 2nd of a back to back, I was hoping for 2 points out of this trip to Florida, I'll gladly take 3. on to the next one.

Just in case you forgot some of the Leafs blown leads. Ugh

Wild game. Haven’t read anything, but I’m sure it’s been said that walking out with 3 of 4 is cool. It is.

I will take that matchup in the playoffs, we lost but we’re better is what I saw.

With average goaltending, defence or referring (usually call next to nothing in Leaf games) on both sides, the score is like 4-3 and nobody cares.

That was a hell of a fun game. Tough to play these guys on a back to back.

Marner has set an NHL record for the quickest SH+PP goals scored.
Imagine how G our team n' organization will be in the playoffs ✊ :leafs: "clap"

Campbell is still bad as well. That late save on giroux was more of giroux just shooting into his pad as opposed to a half open net.

Yea Campbell clearly isn't the guy. He crapped the bed in 3 straight elimination games last playoffs and shows no signs that he'll do any better this year.

What's worse is Hutch might legitimately be our next best goalie.

Just finished watching. Didn't felt like a loss to me. Some stupid easy goals for the Panthers bringing them back in a b2b after playing Tampa (!). 3 out of 4 points in Florida.
Leafs are scary good.

Look at hits stats in the 3 elimination games.

edit : .888 save % and roughly 2.95 GAA so not awful awful but some of the goals were really bad and he made 1 save in two overtimes combined.

Glass half full/silver lining from tonight = Keefe now knows he can't trust the Muzzin/Holl pair.

Don't want to see them together ever again.

How the f*** do you blow a 5-1 lead. I’m trying not to roll my eyes out the back of my head here.

I feel bad for Matthews and Marner they had such great permances again last night and bad goaltending ruined it.

Leafs were on such a tear, man.

Before the game I would’ve taken the point and ran coming off the B2B. Can’t be blowing 5-1 leads though.

Its no like he put up a .888 sv% in all 3 games, really he only had 1 bad start and that was game 5, in game 6 he put up a .903 sv% and only allowed 2 GA in regular time + the OT goal, while in game 7 he allowed 2 goals and put up a .909 sv%, its not great numbers but if the offence maintains its current pace during the playoffs then it is still very doable.

Thing that frustrates me is that we were in the middle of winning streak. Our defense has been excellent, so why in the world you change Muzzin in for this game. If you do so, why you break up two working pairs? Keep two pairs intact and ease Muzzin in with smaller minutes. It is understandable that he is rusty and bit slow after long break.

Just do this shit correctly and in the right game. Could have done that against Dallas. This was worst case scenario. Muzzin was lost, our defense was scrambling and you add up unnecessary turbulence to the team. In best case we could have shown that we have options and Muzzin is getting back on track against top competition. You could have done that against Dallas not within our divisional playoff race.

Stupid decision.

On Finnish board there is good discussion about Florida and about this game. This Panthers team resembles Tampa Bay of 2019-2020, it will be interesting to see how this playstyle translates to playoff hockey. They might have physical defense, but I don't think offensive brand translates optimally to low scoring games.

I wouldn't comment Campbell on this. Getting in middle of the game after playing last night and having night off and seeing his partner going out because of injury trouble. Knowing that if it's bad he will be playing every f***in game from here to end of the season.

Frustrating outcome, but there is lots of good things also. Not on this game and Holl should be the odd man out until proven otherwise. We have seven capable dman and that should mean concentration and competition. Holl didn't have neither.
