That has NOTHING to do with tonight. Nothing. When we were up 5-2 did Florida come back then? Nope.

It was 3 games in 4 nights for the Leafs...that is something to hang your hat on, but that still doesn't erase the fact it was 5-1 and they folded. You can't let that happen...ever. That's like the Gudas goal. You can't let that happen...ever, either.

We're banking on a team that has shown zero mental toughness over the years to just bounce back. Yes, they played great in Boston. Yes, they played well in Tampa. The way they lost this is what is troubling. Had they been dummied 7-1, you could've excused it as 3 games in 4 nights and an emotional let down.

You know, I know, and everyone knows, you don't blow a 5-1 lead. We didn't have the excuse of playing with 4 Dmen, or maybe we did, when looking at the play of Muzzin and Holl?

Let's see how they respond in Big D. Dallas is fighting for their playoff lives. Toronto will be on the 4th of a 4-game road trip coming off an embarrassing defeat in Florida. They got New Jersey'd. You can't get New Jersey'd.
Yes the same team DID NOT come back. And if they fall 5-1 to us in the playoffs they can go fishing early! Almost everything has to go their way to come back. Even a missed call on what would have been a tap in for us. What you fail to understand that, this game Florida was more lucky then they were good. Got the bounces, catch a team on back to back on the road.

Yeah, I'm sure this game is the real Leafs and not the ones where they beat Boston, Florida, and Tampa by a combined score of 17-8 in the last week.

Remember, the games where they fed BOS/FLA/TB there lunch and beat COL and Carolina a few times this season mean nothing, but the one game they ran out of gas in the 2nd half of the game after its there 6th game in 10 days means that they are a bad team. Anyone watching tonight could see they couldn't keep with FLA at all the last 30 mins of the game, FLA won every puck battle, 50/50 race towards the end.

The hot takes are laughable.

Just avoid all those games that we beat the crap out of them and focus on this one where they squeak one out from us.

Boosh played a big role in that beat down. Keefe gonna Keefe.

Indeed. He and Reilly were playing well together against difficult matchups. I thought Reilly and Brodie were not very good tonight. They weren't alone.

There is nothing wrong with messing with the pairs. This was always going to be a.tough game and if not for a.weak goal, maybe Leafs actually get two points snf the discussion isn't so uncertain.

I still stand by my position that Lybushkin brings a pnysical presence that other teams don't want to face and which the Leafs need. They will face the Brodies and Lillys all night if given the option. They are both good D Men, but playoffs bring a different type.of desperate forward to the net and that forward doesn't want to face physical resistance.

Ya those lucky Panthers. That 104 points they got is all through sheer luck!

Not sure how we lost this one. Oh well, not as bad as the loss against the Zamboni driver I guess.

We have to have to go through one of those debacles every season. It simply comes with being a Leafs fan. Tonight was the one for this season.
There was that epic blown lead and collapse against the Bruins several years ago as well. We have some beauties for sure.

I do think Dubas needs to put his foot down (or Shanny) and tell Keefe to f***ing sit Holl and play Boosh. Keefe can't say shit if Shanny says so.

Florida had played 3 in 4 nights as well. We can drop the excuses and just admit that they were the better team over 63 minutes tonight and won a game they deserved. We had 7 powerplay opportunities to their 6. Both of the starting goalies left the game. Missed / ignored penalties went both ways. They always do.

Florida was simply a little bit better tonight, from their offense to their relief goaltending. We need to take this one on the chin and move on. Give them their due. They could have quit down 5-1. Instead, they showed why they're the #1 team in the East. Certainly beatable, but also deserving of a ton of credit tonight.

"I'm going to focus on we played another good hockey game." --Sheldon Keefe on the 7-6 OT loss at Florida.

This quote drives me crazy. Absolutely crazy. He knows his team is so mentally fragile that he can't call the entire team out for choking and knows they need positive reinforcement or they'll pick up where they left off at Dallas. He knows them better than anyone.

Just call this a disgusting, brutal loss that is unacceptable. Just like you should about another too many men penalty. No excuses. Own this and say as a HC I can't have this team lose a game like this and I can't let another bench minor derail us. I can and I will be better. We're all gud pros. Gonna keep grindin'. Steady on the rudder. Yikes, Sheldon.

EDIT: Just listened to Mitch, Jason, JT and Keefe. Interesting no Jack Campbell, at least in the feed I get post game. Did he opt out because he was so bothered by his performance? Or, because a relief appearance? I hope he did speak and it just isn't uploaded. Goalies always speak. If he didn't speak, that leads me to believe he's really taking this hard.

Not a single one of these guys owned that this was unacceptable. Amazing to me. JT's going on about Jake "looking great". I know he scored, but C'mon, JT. You don't have to brutalize him but at least say he's just trying to get his feet back under him, and helped out with a goal. Don't use the word "great" with his play.

At least Sheldon hammered the PK tonight. Call out what needs called out and a losing a 5-1 lead is something you just have to call out and not spin into a positive.

Context bud! The night before they are at home with no game. We are travelling and do have a game. Now, as a person that hates to travel I know the difference.

I wear it as a badge of dishonor among my buddies who are fans of a variety of teams. I know that there will be, at least, one debacle, every year, that I won't hear the end of for a while... That and a blown first round playoff series.

It's Groundhog Day lol.

Gotta admit, I thought we had this at 5-1. Lol.

Upside is we didn’t give up after 5 unanswered goals and tied the game for a point.
We could have just as easily won tonight… we can beat these guys over 7 games.

Florida has been playing a lot of games lately too. I think I heard something like 8 games in the last 12 days - something like that anyways.
They had played also 3 in 4 nights. No need for Leafs fans to go full excuse mode. Sometimes you just have to take your bitter loss and swallow it.
