Does Huberdeau winning the Ross hel Matthews for Hart+Lindsay

I don't think Huberdeau will win those even if he gets the Ross. Lindsay is impossible as no player will have him as the best

Hart is maybe but Matthews and Mcdavid/Draisaitl are more worthy

Hoping if Matthews can't win the Ross Huberdeau gets it

McDavid is winning the scoring title. nobody is catching him

Okay. The other team gets a few PP. You have a bad bounce and it's easily 5-3 or 5-4. Look at the entire situation and don't be so negative.
A lot of people see we blew a lead by the score. BUT pay attention to the effort and gasping for air the boys were putting towards the end of the game. You should be proud of that!
Don't be negative? Are you joking? Blowing a 5-1 lead is not something you rationalize or excuse. That's what teams that lose do. Winning teams own their pitiful choke job and take it personal and make it a real emphasis not to let it happen again. This team won't do that. It never does.

I am happy they didn't get rolled after giving up the lead. However, there is no way to spin this into some kind of positive. It was a horrifically bad choke job. The Tarheels can empathize with the Leafs this evening.

What do you think this did to Jack Campbell? He's as fragile of a goalie in the NHL and maybe the AHL, too. All of us were....JACK IS BACK! Yes, we can win the Cup now! Woo hoo! He turns around and gives up 4 on how many shots? That's confidence destroying and I know nobody wants to hear that but it's the truth especially with a guy like him.

A lot more was lost tonight than the game and 2 points. To not acknowledge this is a better deflection than you saw from Matthews on Vasilevskiy.

Leafs just showed what they will do in the playoffs when the pressure is on.

They will fold like a pack of cards

Yeah, I'm sure this game is the real Leafs and not the ones where they beat Boston, Florida, and Tampa by a combined score of 17-8 in the last week.

Every Leaf fan can see that except Keefe apparently
How can the fans see this from the stands or from our living rooms but the head coach can't see it from ice level and working with the team on a daily basis? It's infuriating.

We have very capable players available. Is it too much to ask to ice the absolute best roster possible night in and night out? Good God.

Ugly game. The Gudas goal broke the team. Onto the next one
I'm really hoping that it doesn't crush the mojo of this team heading into the playoffs. They had been building a lot of confidence of late.

I've seen, at all levels of sports, teams struggle to come back quickly off collapses like this one. It can be a confidence / energy vacuum. Let's hope it goes the other way and the guys actually take some lessons away from this one.

I won't be surprised if they don't look engaged against Dallas in the next one.

We beat the same team 5-2 not too long ago and they didn't mount anything back. It's human nature. You will always let the foot off the gas when up so much in the regular season. Go for 8-1? I think we were up 7-2 against Detroit and same thing they made a game of it. We ended up winning that game. We could have easily won this game still.

Did you notice how he wilts after being hit a couple of times? Every f.cking time, like a clock. Teams take a note, I guess. He is playing scared.
Not sure what the evaluation was or continues to be on him internally. He’s not overly physical. He doesn’t skate particularly well. Not a great passer or decision maker. Not a scoring threat. He doesn’t defend all that well.

It’s not even like we have to play him anymore considering we have much better players that can fill that spot. So what’s the deal?

I really should avoid this place after a loss. The hot takes, bitching and moaning, the he's at fault/no he's at fault back and forth bs is so tiring. They were up, they were down, they tied it and then lost in OT after the ref didn't call a hook on a play that could have won us the game. Shit happens, good night.
Yeah...... because blowing a 5-1 lead to a division rival is NOTHING to bitch and moan about........ What is this fanbase thinking???............

I think the Buds just looked tired in the third and in OT. That's all.
I flipped over to the Panther's broadcast. I think he said Panthers have played 8 games in the last 12 days - something like that anyways.

The Leafs are now 26-3-2 when leading after one period, and 33-1-3 when leading after two periods
4 goal leads are a different beast. Very similar to watching an NFL team surrender a 4 touchdown (28 point) lead. It's just an extremely rare act of futility, especially for a team considered among the league's best.

No need to rationalize it. We can accept that it's both completely embarrassing to surrender a 4 goal lead as a contender, but also that it's unlikely to happen again this season, given that type of lead is so hard to screw up.

That has NOTHING to do with tonight. Nothing. When we were up 5-2 did Florida come back then? Nope.

It was 3 games in 4 nights for the Leafs...that is something to hang your hat on, but that still doesn't erase the fact it was 5-1 and they folded. You can't let that happen...ever. That's like the Gudas goal. You can't let that happen...ever, either.

We're banking on a team that has shown zero mental toughness over the years to just bounce back. Yes, they played great in Boston. Yes, they played well in Tampa. The way they lost this is what is troubling. Had they been dummied 7-1, you could've excused it as 3 games in 4 nights and an emotional let down.

You know, I know, and everyone knows, you don't blow a 5-1 lead. We didn't have the excuse of playing with 4 Dmen, or maybe we did, when looking at the play of Muzzin and Holl?

Let's see how they respond in Big D. Dallas is fighting for their playoff lives. Toronto will be on the 4th of a 4-game road trip coming off an embarrassing defeat in Florida. They got New Jersey'd. You can't get New Jersey'd.

I guess you could make excuses for the Leafs. Listen they've been very impressive on this stretch and I think going up 5-1 on Panthers shocked them lmao. Hockey is a crazy game. A soft goal here and there and it's a new game.

A game like this will bring all the naysayers out who doubt this team because c'mon, end of day, a good team has to, HAS TO win that game.

I'll take the point, 0 points would be a nightmare.

Wasn't even expecting two points but the boys surprised me and got up big-time, its too bad it ended the way it did.
Got to think a good team could protect a lead like that and end up with a W.

Not sure how we lost this one. Oh well, not as bad as the loss against the Zamboni driver I guess.
We have to have to go through one of those debacles every season. It simply comes with being a Leafs fan. Tonight was the one for this season.
