One player I have a lot of respect for is Nylander. He was demoted to the 3rd line and shifted to center, and he had a solid game. He's always the guy who gets demoted when Keefe wants to "shake things up" and never seems to complain.

I'm making a serious comment here. Matthews is a sniper and saying otherwise is just being plain ignorant. Is he's not a sniper there is no sniper in the NHL.

But again, outside of him, this team has no natural goal scorers. That's why this team struggles so much in the playoffs. Their offense is fool's gold. They only know how to score soft goals

The right play is to actually wait out the year, tell dubas the 1sts are not to be traded. And if things progress and finish like how we typically see, you fire shanahan early off season, name a new president and then he can chose a gm and the gm can chose a new coach if he wants. I’m all for,punting shanahan and dubas into the employment line yesterday, but I think what’s done is done, play out the year and let the chips fall.

It's something like this (please correct if I'm wrong): if Matthews is not re-signed by this June, then he cannot be traded during the last year of his contract. He can then walk for free. So, have to install a new Leaf management crew asap to get a handle on this and manage it to the organization's best advantage before June.

I actually think Dubas is prepared to go down if it comes to that and isn't going to mortgage future to fix the problems now. If he gets fired here, he will land on his feet somewhere else probably as an AGM or something and I think he knows that.

Nonis couldn't get a generational talent to piss away. He is the worst Leafs GM of my lifetime. Dubas for all his faults has given us a damn good team. I know he's the new whipping boy because people can't handle anything in this day and age, but seriously we are not that far removed from NO hope of the playoffs at all.

No he didn't. He inherited generational talents on ELCs and has managed to put us in cap hell and not progress past what we accomplished AMs rookie season.

Not sure if it's sophmore slump or not but he hasn't looked good. I said this last year that he peaked on the first line.

That’s the thing, if you are not going to let the GM do GM thing, like trading. Why keep him around?
Just fire him and make the decisions by committee. No point having someone in a position for the sake of having someone there.
