Post-Game Talk: Leafs lose in OT 4-3

The problem with this team is their offense. Who are their snipers other than Matthews? They are very limited in how they score. I think their offense makes them lose confidence in the rest of their game as a team.

I’m not talking about a play or two or a game here and there …
Been there .., I get it and get what you’re saying , but he would say the same and I have and would also take the blame as it should be , he’s responsible for the state it’s in . You can quibble about this and that , makes no difference .

Nonis couldn't get a generational talent to piss away. He is the worst Leafs GM of my lifetime. Dubas for all his faults has given us a damn good team. I know he's the new whipping boy because people can't handle anything in this day and age, but seriously we are not that far removed from NO hope of the playoffs at all.

I don't want or need anything drastic to happen in the early to mid season. The core are all still under contract in the offseason - if the team needs to be blown up, it can happen then. It's also a much better time to higher new coaches and front office staff than it is mid season.

In the meantime,.the core (and front office) has the rest of the season and playoffs to fight tooth and nail that they earn the right to justify the bets they've made on themselves.

And if it flops, it flops.

Context the Leads have had some stellar regular seasons in this era but only playoff failures… in reality all it takes is to get into the dance and if they figure it out in time by then a playoff run can happen (not likely, but possible).

I think you meant to say who are their snipers in period, Matthews ain’t scoring snipes

And to answer you, no one. Nylanders shot misses the net, Tavares doesn’t have that good of a shot, Robertson doesn’t get played, bunting has a piss poor shot

Robertson’s the only one who is a wildcard but dude gets played like he is Kyle Clifford

This is absolutely Dubas fault. Every single observer could see that this core group of players just wasn’t good enough to win in the playoffs and yet he coddles them like they’re part of a hockey dyanasty.

Keefe got himself fired when he backtracked on his public comments. That’s when he lost the room.

Marner’s tantrum tonight during the game is symptomatic of the problem. He should be benched for multiple games for that display but instead is given primo ice time in OT only to miss a wide open chance.

This year, they can’t dominate anyone, possession numbers suck, 4 goals is impossible. Marner and Matthews just feel off, yea it could change, but it doesn’t seem like it will, they seem like they’ll turn the corner one minute only to flub it like we saw with those 2 gaffs.

Simply put, Nylander and Tavares are not talented enough to carry any team to the playoffs

The leafs finished last season after October with 4 wins and 5 losses. They had their best regular season ever.

They finished this October at 4 wins and 6 losses. Its early.

How magical will it be looking back 8 months from now at how foolish we were when the leafs have won the cup
