f*** Jack Campbell I'm done with that idiot he's been dog shit for about 6 straight weeks he's had what? 2 good games in that span, MAYBE 3.

let this coward walk
and replace him with who? Hutton? Im sure Dubas has Hutchinson on speed dial give him ready to give him another go.

Campbell cant be relied on to play 50+ games Hes not that guy .
This is why Campbell was a back up for so many years he doesn’t have the tenacity for a main load goalie more games hes played the worse hes gotten

like I said before we need a young goalie prospect who can take the reigns . Or a 50/50 tandem which we don’t have either

Campbell's last 18 games, 10 of them including tonight, he has had under a .900. Winning games in the NHL is very hard when your getting goaltending like that. Don't care what you say, can't get beat clean twice high glove from the top of the circle.

The Leafs are not playing perfect hockey game in and game out, but they are playing well enough to win games.

That’s bullshit

we gave up nothing today apart from the first goal and Campbell spotted them 3

the other guy saved exact same shot laine had from Matthews

Campbell can’t even out play an ahler

Go back and watch the game. There were a number of odd man rushes against particularly in the first half. If you want to get on Campbell for the second that's fine but the third was a break away and the winner was a Laine ripper bar down..

Win or lose in O.T, Dubas is going to be busy this deadline.

Spezza earned the team a point. Since the All Star selection Campbell has been sub par. Since the Olympics being cancelled Tavares has not looked sharp.

That said, this teams attention to detail on defense has not been very good. Every game this team is giving up far too many breaks ways and two on ones. Just gifts to opponents on top of little physicality opponents don't find us to be a tough match.

Maybe the teams push for more offense from the D needs to be tempered a bit with a stronger structure and willingness to win low scoring grindfests.

That's bullshit. They gave up nothing outside of the first goal that was dangerous.
You didn't think that last Laine shot was a dangerous chance? Slot, through Matthews legs, not to mention one of the best shooters in the world. Blame Campbell where it is due, but that was a great shot from a great spot on the ice.

what I find hilarious is that a sniper like Laine makes a solid shot and campbell is a moron; if Matthews had made a similar shot then it would have been a snipe i.e. opposition goalie had no chance

not to mention how easily we allowed entry into our zone to their players. not a peep about that LOL

Seriously folks.... come on now....
not mad about the Game winner, the 2 he let in the third have to be stopped..... every capable NHL goalie would of saved those

The first goal was Laine, clapping for moms(?), can’t fault him.

Second goal was bad, thirty feet out. Third goal was a breakaway with speed but he needs to have it.

OT what the hell, not just him.

He was nowhere near as bad as Mrazek yesterday.

I refuse to believe Jack dominates for 70ish games and then just falls apart. I hope he gets it back, but the AAV is dropping like a rock.

Better than Montreal, but still leaking odd man rushes.

0.250 against Montreal and Columbus.

Watch them club Minnesota 5-2.

This team is not good enough to compete for a stanley cup,
We all know that.
I worry that Dubas, thinking he may get fired, trades prospects and more picks to protect his job.
And mortgages the future.

I don't understand why people think a breakaway is an excuse for a goalie to be total trash. Take a second look at that five hole.

A lot of people don't really know hockey in this forum. It is always the easiest to blame the goalie.

I’m not too upset about this loss. The team showed up on the back half of a back to back and were sunk by goaltending.

These are the performances that get you out of a slide. They deserved this one.
Well, okay... think I'll get medicated now, too.

Breakaway… THAT WENT BETWEEN HIS LEGS

seriously half of the posters here are in love with players and can’t see a bad play. It went between the wickets, that should never go in

the winner is an uncontested shot which should be a save, but obviously we don’t get those

We will never ever have the better goaltending no matter who we play in the playoffs.

If our entire plan is to outgoalie the other team, we won't go very far.

This is what happens when Dubas has to get the best he can at the almost zero dollars he left himself. Andersen -> Mrazek was a straight downgrade. Campbell has been a career borderline backup. The fact we've gotten so much out of him is the miracle.

it’s not about out goaling. It’s about getting a God damn save. The last 3 goals were just bad, didn’t even fight the shots

and we gave him a lead. Not sure what more you can want from the team. They kept consistent pressure, had a lot of shots on goal. Not their fault Campbell was literally Swiss cheese

We are putting more pressure on him than he has ever faced. He has never been an NHL starter. He was barely a consistent NHL backup.

Getting what we got out of him to start the season was the miracle we needed.

Riding him into the ground is the stupidity that is Dubas.

4 and 5 in the month of February.

Minny, Detroit and Washington the remaining 3 games.

Likely to finish 5 and 7 in the month of February. Could finish 4 and 8. Where are all the guys saying "we are 17 and 2".

A couple of us predicted this. This is a first round exit team. This team is seriously flawed.

I said those games would have to be made up and it was mostly teams above 500.

I said I was going to come back and say I told you so.

I TOLD YOU SO

And the worse is yet to come.

(not so)Fun stats:

5v5 since January 1st:
Leafs rank for fewest shots against: 6th in the league
Leafs rank for fewest scoring chances against: 2nd in the league
Leafs rank for fewest high danger chances against: 1st in the league

5v5 team save% since then: 31st in the league

This isnt D...this isnt coaching. Stop trying to talk yourselves into it.

It's so much worse actually. The same old problem rears its head. Wheres the Belfour/Cujo/Potvin this team deserves heading into the playoffs. We get these flashes of greatness from keepers who let us down in crunch time is the problem.

I really hope Campbell can figure it out. We need him.

He was at the top of the circles. Goalies should be able to make that save. I'd be a lot more lenient if Campbell didn't let in that awful Boqvist goal.

exactly. We need a competent goalie for the playoffs. If not then don’t sell any assets let the team go through the motions of losing first round or surprising everyone and win a round. This team is porked before it even starts the playoffs.
