The good news is that Campbell won’t be getting a bloated salary next season. The bad news is we’re stuck with Mrazek who is an even bigger dumpster fire than Campbell has been.

I’m not really mad at Campbell though. He played well above his true ability for much of last season and the first few months of the season. The Cinderella story had to end eventually. He’s a decent backup goaltender, but that’s all he’ll ever be and all he’s ever been.

Im really beginning to question our pro scouts. There were a lot of red flags especially with consistencies

You can kind of tell other teams like playing the part of tough guy spoiler against our "outskill them" mentality even when they're not tough guys. A guy like Nick Suzuki has no business running around on anybody and yet has no issue throwing Justin Holl into the end boards on a cheap shot like he's Mr Power Forward all of a sudden. If we still had Roberts and Tucker he wouldn't be going to any corners the rest of the night after pulling that kind of stunt.

Precisely. He feels unleashed, free to engage in antics he wouldn't try against other teams. It has to be demoralizing to players like Muzzin and Simmonds.

Lot of baby diapers need changing after that loss, but if Jack is a touch better, we win.

JT is seeing nothing but huge goalies and I'm not sure how to mix that line up as we don't want to mess with Bunting's line.

Bushka was better than expected, but I didn't expect Bobby Orr. He played better than Holl did the night before and Holl seems to have a lot of supporters on here.

We'll see what Dubas can bring in, but without better goaltending, it won't matter.

On a positive note, Lybushkin(sp) looked pretty good and it was nice to watch a game without Holl bumbling everything that comes his way.

You are absolutely right. God I miss the Roberts/Tucker days. It feels like a lifetime ago at this point but what those teams lacked in talent they made up for in pure heart and effort. I remember the 2002 run with all the injuries and how we overachieved making the conference finals, now we have a bunch of man children whose greatest accomplishment is perennially choking.

I still cant comprehend how a team managed by Shanahan is so soft

Need the following

- Goalie upgrade. Ideally Campbell is 1B and Mrazek is traded for a 1A. Although I still like Campbell just not full time.
Two top 4 D.
Top 6 forward

This team needs MAJOR additions.
Forget the 1A and 1B goalie.it does not work.
When was the last time a tatum won a cup.

Get a number one goalie and a back up

Hey, at least they are struggling heading BEFORE the trade deadline. Makes shipping guys out far easier and making those tough decisions. Ideally they need better goaltending (not happening), 2 top 4 d and a another 25 goal scorer on the wing.

So many disposable bodies that can be dealt this year: Miheyev, Kerfoot, Holl, Engvall and Dermott.

Rittich just beat Florida.
I watched that game in its entirety after the Leafs surrendered that 4th goal many ex-Leafs to be sure, if Bob isn't on the Panthers can be had, just like when Jack isn't on. Like our Bud's they really aren't a complete team, Tampa, Colorado and St Louis are completely different stories though.

The first goal is another unscreened shot, but it’s a nice one
The second shot is a unscreened shot that was from 40 feet out
The second shot is a five hole slider that beats him
The third shot Campbell gets beat cleanly agian

he can’t stop a beach ball
Ya might want to retry the math...just sayin:cool:

Colorado is built a lot like us too, weak D and G that often falls apart.

Yeah but they just lost to Ottawa tonight (in regulation), so who knows.
Ottawa is a very good club, they're just young. Guys like Stutzle, Formenton, Chabot are going to be SS before you know it and they've got 2 or 3 on the way up to add to what is looking like a very solid group. They will be scary in 4 years.

Ben chariot will solve all of these problems

Wont be too mad at Campbell on the winner.. that was a heck of a shot that Matthews has to block.. the second and third goal we’re woof
The Dermott excuse me block/screen wasn't Campbell's bad, Travis is a pro Dman for how many years now? He's got to play that a whole lot better, if he were a forward it would even then be inexcusable.

Derms does a good thing or two and then follows it up with that kind of thing, it's the story of his career so far.

OMG just no, the guy is publicity

Just say Foligno it'll be the same thing, except he may not get hurt, but the play will be lackluster and to no positive effect. There's a reason the Canadiens are languishing

They need Kerfoot to be back on the 3rd, and a real top 6 winger for JTs LW, then they need Willie Styles to start giving a shit and playing up to his level instead of drifting around 1 out of every 3 shifts. He needs to man up and come to terms with the fact that MM owns that 1st line job until further notice.

Toronto outplayed Columbus.

All-round Campbell has been one of the better starters since playoffs, are we that concerned that they've slipped all the way down to 6th in the league?

Campbell is either poorly coached or unteachable. At least 2 goals were because of poor technique that anyone can see. He has stopped being in control of himself.
We cannot win a playoff series with him playing this way.
I wonder if his teammates are still in live with Soup now.
