Post-Game Talk: Leafs Lose .. A lot to not a lot

Look at this game as more motivation than anything. A little anger is never bad before the playoffs. Go down fighting which is something we wouldn't do before

Well, the Leafs obviously didn't care a whole lot about the game so neither do I. You could definitely question why they felt that they could phone this one in, but it clearly wasn't even close to their best effort

Great game boys. Everyone showed up and dominated their matchups. Kallgren and Holl put on a damn fine show and the refs stole the game with one of the most lopsided games I’ve seen called for the Leafs.

Thing is they played a solid first .. the second is when things went sideways.

Their puck battles, positioning and gap control was non existent. Was almost like watching the little kids play and they are floating around everywhere.

I mean if they're playing Tampa in the first round this game is a nice reminder of why they need to put the work in to take them seriously. They outplayed them in their last matchup and could have some false sense of confidence.

winning two cups back to back is not easy man. Even if what you say is true.... Do you expect Tavares to show up in the playoffs? I havent seen him do much against Bruins/CBJ and this year regular season he has been pretty meh. He mostly feasted on PP ponits; his even strength play leaves a lot to be desired at 11 AAV

Well I mean they had a top 5-10 blue line with a 40 goal 1C, one of the best two way C's in the league who peaked at 90 points in that time period with arguably the best winger in the league AND the best goalie in the league by track record. Back to back cups is insane but that roster was also nuts too, especially with Goodrow running that third line in their runs.

Can't say I'm not upset by this loss--because that was awful. But it's not the end of the world. Still confident we'll get the #2 seed in the Atlantic and TB doesn't worry me more than any of the other teams we could face.

That’s the difference I see for sure. We never go after their skilled guys while our best players are constantly getting run
