That's the way she goes. You're playing an excellent team, you're down 3 regulars, but you find yourselves up 3 goals, twice.

But you can't handle the pressure, despite your goalie playing excellent hockey and your stars can't push back and quell the momentum.

After all that, your superstar still has the puck on the doorstep, all alone, in overtime, and he just whiffs.

You get beat.

Take the point. Learn a lesson (you have to keep playing) and can't get outshot 50/25 if you want to be a Cup contender.

Start well and find a way to blow it. Campbell with some amazing saves and not to blame but didn't do enough to win in the end. An amazing performance doesn't end with 10 minutes to go in the third.

On to the next one

D needs an upgrade if we want to compete. Call up Kraken, we could use some of their D

Hello Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls in Leaf Nation and anywhere else .
I want to clear up something regarding a earlier take I made regarding the “ Color boy “
I was referring to how bad the “Color commentator “ was tonight …
It was clumsily said and I recognized it after someone replied to me ..
My sincere apology to anyone and everyone who may have taken my poor choice of words negatively .!
Sorry
Go leafs Go !

Leafs were dominated by a much, much, MUCH superior team in every facet. This is the difference between a first round failure and a Stanley Cup contender, Avs are a contender, the Leafs are not.

Pure embarrassment from top to bottom. Pathetic effort. Outshot over 20 to 5 in the third, gave up over 50 shots. Avs are superior to Toronto.

give it a break man, don’t watch if you’re just gonna be so negative every game.

We learned 2 things from this game
1- The Aves are a much better team then the Leafs. We got great goaltending for the most part and they got crappy goaltending early yet they still beat us. That’s on management. The Ave’s management have simply built a better team.
2- the Leafs are still willing to choke away a good lead

PKing all night, not playing games lately and altitude is a recipe for a gassed team.

Reffing was actually atrocious. PP after PP for COL, clear game management. Brodie phantom penalty was comical but predictable.

Oh please. The Avs lost to us 8-3 to us earlier in the year and got bailed out by the refs a bit

Whelp, the better team won. Not that we played badly - Matthews and Campbell especially were beasting. But the Avs are a truly elite team, and trying to keep up with them, on their home ice, without Marner, Kase or Engvall, that’s tough. They’re actually a pretty similar team to the Leafs, but significantly better on D, a bit better forward depth, and worse goaltending.

I actually thought the Leafs competed hard and played well, but the Avs significantly outplayed us. It looked like we were going to steal the game regardless, but couldn’t hold on.

Wanted 2 but will take the point.

Avs played a better game than the Leafs. They got more jumps and didn’t give up even after being down 4-1.

Gotta give credits to the other team.

How can they find their killer instinct if the reffing is completely one sided? Glad we got the point but we deserved two. Keefe had to say something about the reffing, this happens too often to one of the elite teams in the league.

It's been happening for too long, hate to sound like a Homer, but Crosby was protected when he entered the league. The Leaf stars have never been.

The Brodie embellishment call was criminal.
