Defense is a mess (can't transition the puck out.) I think that's breaking everything else. Bottom 6 should at least be able to get the cycling game going which hasn't happened much either.

I'm all for Matthews and Marner playing together in the long run, but when they're out of sync like right now, both of them playing rover like they do makes them ineffective. When it's clicking it's a treat.

The Leafs are still playing pre-season hockey

More like Timbits Hockey. Our possession style is so pretentious. Kyle Dubas trying to reinvent the wheel. Dump the puck into the offensive zone and chase it with tenacity. The reason why our net is getting stuffed right now is because we try to walk the puck into the offensive zone which creates turn overs in the neutral zone. We are getting killed on the rush.

That ladies and gentlemen was grim viewing

The two words that come to mind are gutless and pathetic, they look like they don't give a rats ass and **** will just magically fall into there laps

Make the ******* walk back to Toronto, it's the least they deserve

Samsonov will not have more smile neither tonight when we face the ducks. Coach keefe and his buddie gm dubas is playing källgren again in this important game. Just like they did against the sharks. We do not want our number one goalie to get injured. He is our only good player so we do not want to play him. We have to be careful.

Not panicking at all. Good teams often have a slow start. But I'm glad that I don't have time to watch the games anymore, I feel for you, guys 🤪

I hate pretty much everything about this team right now, and I wouldn't shed a single tear if Dubas and/or Keefe get fired on Monday.

But this right here actually tells me it's not all doom and gloom -- a 3-game win streak and the Leafs could be sitting top 3 in the conference in a matter of a week. :dunno:
Regular season doesn’t cross my mind that much anymore. When I look at this team and think about round 1 and how we can match up against one of the top teams, it really doesn’t look good.

Think about the Leafs in a Stanley cup match up. Best of 7 wins the cup. The opposing team laying it all out there with every hit, blocked shot and making the most to make you miserable. This team would fold in a heart beat. It’s the ugly truth.

Habs fan with a more than small interest in the Leafs. I've argued that Dubas has done a good job keeping a very impressive core intact.

A question for you: how do you figure out if a player is not trying hard enough or if he's trying hard and is in an ineffective environment (ie linemates or tactics holding him back)?

I've argued against Habs fans that Marner would be our best player bar none, but I see so much criticism of Marner here. What gives -- is he really a coaster who somehow puts up outrageous numbers?

It's easy to say the coach has to change and I wonder what'll happen if eg. Barry Trotz came in and did Barry Trotz sorta things but if the players are problematic and irredeemable then there will be a point the Leafs have to swallow a bitter pill and sell them. Is that case?

Keeps the team intact year over year ... expects an improvement

A true Loser

What are we planning to do with Muzzin and Murray?

If both are on LTIR this season we need to get quality replacements

Leafs need Matthews to wake up and stop being shit too

The team is looking like a easy 1st round win for whoever gets them

Not enough compete, composure and tenacity so far

Players are content with losing

If wr lose tommorrow might need a few jerseys tossed on the ice our next home game
PLAYOFFS? LOL

NA,NA,NA,NA, HEY>,HEY>,HEY>, GOODBYE

Every year we get worse and worse, and keep thinking the same core who has let us down year after year will somehow learn to actually give a shit on the ice.

This is embarassing hockey. I've been turning every game off during the first or second period like the Kessel era, because this isn't enjoyable to watch, at all.

Started trading some of the core, and admit the Keefe experiment didn't work. Two different coaches and they still refuse to play hockey 80% of the time.

Marner is awful, year after year. We keep thinking this will be the year he finally clicks but he doesn't.
He is not cut out for Toronto. He needs to go. I'm tired of people sticking up for him, when he is consistently the laziest f*** on the ice.

Matthews and Marner are wasting another year themselves.

They chose to take top dollar. They're the ones who don't perform in the playoffs. They're the ones who are struggling right now

Nylander is the only one who steps up. That's it.

When have Matthews and Marner taken over a series? You see other teams stars do it. McDavid/Drai in Edmonton, Makar/Mackinnon in Colorado, Kuch/Point/Vasi/Hedman in Tampa. Where are these guys? We've made ZERO progress with them

Yeah the depth isn't the best, Dubas has sucked at finding good bottom 6 pieces. But our stars aren't good enough. They need to feel the heat

How much do you wanna bet that both Matthews and Marner recover and AM scores 45-50, and Marner gets 90 points again, and "Leaf Nation" flips it's pancakes again and says they're perfect and nothing is wrong? Even tho we lose out in the 1st round AGAIN? It's really all about regular season performance around here. And it's always the same with us Dummies, who buy into it, every season.

Lol, love that line “is he a coaster who somehow puts up outrageous numbers”

He’s a good player, people are going to blame him for Matthews not getting off to hot start.

Listen in leaf land there is always someone to be hated. Marner could put 120 points and people will still dislike him. It’s not all undeserved but it has gone overboard.

The contract negotiations have ruined the relationship with the fans and unless they win a cup I’m not sure it can be repaired.

Well, that's on the player. He demanded that money/that term, so he has to live up to it, or have a shit relationship with the fans. Completely up to him. It's not even all about "numbers" they put up.......Toronto fans have shown that they love guys who work hard/show heart. Look at Wendel Clark. He never had the best numbers out there at all, but look at the way he tried out there. If you aren't putting up the massive numbers, that's all that's needed. HEART. PASSION. WORK ETHIC.

An absolute sieve who is still not giving up a ton of goals for someone playing in his role?

Over the past two years, when he has apparently not been "NHL caliber", he is 39th in xGA/60 and 68th in GA/60 out of the 130 defensemen who played the most ES minutes over the past two years (approximately the top 4 defensemen for every team). 30th in xGF% and 65th in GF%.

For PK, once again out of 130 defensemen, he is 36th in xGA/60 and 82nd in GA/60 (and he is being brought down by a bit of a rough start this year in that regard; he was in the 60's last year).

Can you do better? Sure. Has he made some boneheaded decisions? Sure. Can you do better for 2 mill? Good luck. Same with finding guys who are better and available at any price.

That is why Keefe places a lot of trust in him. He has a lot more good going for him than bad, but with the way he plays, people only notice the bad.

There are much bigger problems going on with this team than Holl right now.
Yea you’re looking at 2 years and as I had already mentionned, in the bubble he was good. Last year and this year, he’s been a sieve.

If you trying to say that Holl has been a good defender this year, I can’t help you and we are done here.
