Don’t know why Kerfoot is such an essential part of this team. He can’t help the 2nd line at all, the third line is great without him, and he makes too much to play on the fourth line. Sure, for what they’re making Tavares and Nylander shouldn’t NEED help given what they’re making but FFS we need them going if we want any hope of going anywhere in the playoffs. f*** you need to keep M-A-M together if only so you have one line 5 on 5 that could potentially score.

Wayne is cooked - Hate to say it. He got in alone and had no idea what to do. Can't wait for Abruzzese and Knies to get here.

He needs to come in for situational toughness. A game where the 4th line is tasked with nothing except hitting and generating energy (which would mean Spezza is not in the lineup).

Other than that, he should be sitting for some of the young guys we have coming up.

Yes. Did you?

you just said Leafs got DOMINATED by montreal and i'm the crazy one??? okkkkkie stop smoking shit

They showed the puck possession in the opp zone and it was like 11 mins Toronto to like 5 Montreal lol

What can you honestly have to critique about their game tonight? 50 shots and no they weren't from the outside. They were almost all around Allen. They had more high danger chances than Montreal had shots period.

It obviously sucks to lose but the regular season does not matter one bit in the playoffs. We don't really have to worry about our spot. Your most likely opponents are Florida, Tampa, Boston or Carolina and they are all just as good as each other.

I’m not really too worried about standings or playoff matchup at this point. When time comes we either step up and knock out a team or we lose.

But from a playoff tuneup POV though, these high shot disparity games and getting goalied a la Game 6 OT aren’t a good sign because they fall into the opposition game plan and really have no answer.

I don't think he's disinterested. I think playing 1000 NHL games the way he has has worn him out, and the game has only gotten faster.

It's on our coaching now to realize that.

The issue is options. He is a 4th liner who is making a.fraction of what others make. He is a respected vet who can show.flashes of net presence.

If he coukd have bottled his formula of the first games he played last year before his injury. THAT is the Simmonds I hoped for.

Leafs in the first period were hitting and forechecking.

In the second on they played a timid game, little desire to get to the front of the net.

The Matthews decision to pull back to the blueline against a team that feasts on presusured turnovers cost them at least a point.

Shot totals aside, Leafs didn't deseeve a point anyways.

On to the big game tomorrow against the Panthers. We will see how ready this team is for playoff hockey.

Whether the Leafs win or lose against the Panthers tomorrow, it proves absolutely nothing. They can win 10-0 or lose by the same score line, it really doesn't change much at all. Mrazek nor Kallgren will be in net in the playoffs, it will be Campbell.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, don't put too much weight on any single game till Game 1 of the playoffs this year. Only in the playoffs will we know what this team will accomplish.

Leafs can win convincingly tomorrow and all it proves is that they beat a good team in the regular season...which they have already done based on their winning/.500 records against Boston and Tampa along with wins against teams like Colorado.

We only had 11 hits??? How can there be any serious hockey analytics with such unreliable data. Holy.

Maybe one day we will get to the level of baseball...

Leafs fans,

Not here to talk trash. You guys are trying to win now. We need futures. Take note of what Allen did tonight. This was NOT a fluke. He's been playing consistently like this for a while now -MAY have gotten his career back on track. Don't believe me? Next deadline if you're looking for a goalie take a closer look at the body of work over the last 2 years.

Leafs have acquired goaltenders in the past who have dominated the Leafs only to have them play like shit once they join the Leafs.

Dominating the Leafs as a goaltender is nothing new or unique. Virtually every starting and backup goaltender in the league has done it.

The Leafs need a backup no matter what, moreso than they needed Gio. What happens if Campbell gets injured again? You go in the playoffs with frickin Kallgren?

Yup, Kallgren has better numbers than Allen. Rather him than Allen, despite Allen winning a game for once
