I think the organization needs to start throwing bombs at the NHL officiating. Lay the ground work so the biases are out in the open before the playoffs start. But then again with the way this team is unable to string together a consistently strong effort game to game I don’t think officiating is their only problem.

very doubtful. dubas and keefe are either cowards or really stingy.

There is nothing wrong with the effort. Not too many mistakes. Not too many things you can really complain about in terms of how the Leafs played or prepared. Maybe that 2nd period could have been better, but even then, that should not have lost us that game.

Allen played unreal (and was very lucky on some of his saves too), the refs were horrid again (not really a surprise, and complaining will likely just make it worse), and our goalie gave up a back breaking goal that cost us the game. Not the first time this has happened, and certainly won't be the last.

If we play like this every game, we win most of the time. We can't do anything about the refs, and it is unfortunate that there have been multiple instances now where they have directly influenced the game in the opponent's favour, but our goaltending needs to be better and I guess we need to find a way to get past guys like Allen... But it was just one of those days. It would be nice if we had one of these performances though... It has been a while since our goalie stole a game for us like this.

Rielly's pinch hurt, to be sure, but at the same time he see's AM coming with the puck and how many times does AM lose it? A bit of a flukey thing to happen, but shit does that every once and awhile.

Honestly, I have to laugh a bit at this one. 50+/-20 shots on goal. And we lose. Credit to Allen, he played great.

I know this will fall on deaf ears, but to those who want to dump on: Keefe, Tavares, Nylander, Holl, the refs, etc., folks, the Leafs played well enough to win. Sometimes this game...

Enjoy your night, you deserve it.

I feel like blaming the refs is far too easy a cop out for this sort of mess. Sure, Matthews was tripped up there, but late in a game, that's a call that often won't get made for any team.

No reason for everyone on the ice to be cheating that hard at that point.

You know we'll only get less calls in the playoffs too - stop expecting the league to change and build a team that can play in the league we have.

f***ing bullshit non call at the end. Bush league shit. Announcers didn’t even make anything of it. How the f*** is that not a penalty?

51 goddamn shots on net and we lose in regulation

Lol seriously, I don't get it with some people. I know it's the Habs and it sucks losing to them, but what can you do when Allen played the game of his life? Leafs completely dominated other than a small portion of the 2nd

My only takeaway from this game is that I hope Keefe keeps JT and Nylander separated
U guys do realize Montreal is the worst team IN The league right?

And for fans criticizing other fans for overreacting you do realize we haven’t sniffed a playoff win in how many decades?

We have been complaining for the exact same issues for 20 years now
Same issues EVERY YEAR, how is this an overreaction, leafs nation are experts in identifying failure

Or they know it will do nothing except get them a fine and make it worse.

If it is true that they have a mandate, you think calling them out on it will make a difference? Did game management suddenly stop after Tim Peele was caught last year?

The best solution would be being able to challenge missed penalties that lead to goals like you can challenge a missed offside.

We f***ing outshot them 50-17. They played with pride man. People like you need to get a grip. You guys act like they don’t give a f***, they are actually playing hard and doing the right things, sometimes you get the breaks, sometimes you don’t. Time to move on

I’ve seen this movie more than enough times. There’s no benefit of the doubt for these Leafs. Either get it f***ing done in the games where there’s more on the line than simple two points or go the f*** home, which they will nice and early when they get bounced in round 1 again.

I think some of us has said waht needed to be said like 100X times...,

I have made peace with this team. This is what we have, this is who we are
Yeah I'm at the point they're easily in... so I doesn't matter other than playoffs.

I think we mostly all agree on that here.

I could say a lot but it'll just get eaten up by this board so I'll wait until playoffs.

We don't act like they don't give a f***, most of this squad acts like they don't give a f***. That's why they lose. Game 7, champ.

Wish the Leafs would show that much emotion during a game consistently.

Leafs in the first period were hitting and forechecking.

In the second on they played a timid game, little desire to get to the front of the net.

The Matthews decision to pull back to the blueline against a team that feasts on presusured turnovers cost them at least a point.

Shot totals aside, Leafs didn't deseeve a point anyways.

On to the big game tomorrow against the Panthers. We will see how ready this team is for playoff hockey.
