Funny thing is they outshot them like 50-20 ... Be interested to see the high danger chances, but it's hard to say they played like hot garbage with the shot clock that tilted.

Some people here, like in the GDT, will try to act like this was a debacle for the Leafs. It wasn’t. The Leafs were clearly the better team. They once again didn’t get great goaltending. And that game winner was complete garbage. Matthews would have been in that play if he hadn’t had his back skate clipped by the player skating behind him. That’s a clear trip

See but this is the problem. Goaltending is one of the most important positions in the NHL. We have arguably the worst goaltending in the league.

No matter who we face in the first round, we are not going to win a goaltending duel.

Yes, we were the better team. But it would be nice to be the better team and actually win these kind of games. Our record over the last 20 games is middling at best.

The humiliation word is so f***ing over used here on this board. Give it a rest. They lost, but it wasn’t a humiliation. MTL literally won on a questionable tripping call. We had 50 shots on goal. Obviously you want them to win, but it’s the NHL, shit teams are going to win. Leafs are not going to go 82-0. Not every loss to a shitty team qualifies as humiliation.

Who gives a f***? This team embarrassed us in the playoffs and the best we can do against them is a crappy 2-1 win at the beginning of the season, and follow that up by getting killed by them and losing yet again. Have some f***ing pride for God’s sake.

Was definitely a trip. Simpson definitely on some awful drugs if he thinks that was clean.

I dont understand this team anymore, we seem to come out against the good teams, but we go into Montreal against a team playing for next year, and we shit the bed. 50 something shots and 2 goals.

2 goals on 50 shots. With the fact that all te real money is spent on forwards you would think they could get more then 2 goals, plus this seems to happen way to often to this group
