I love the Flames and how they are built

They dont' give a Rats A**

They are cheapy, dirty and a bit cocky

Not ot mention they have a coach who actually did somethign in the league. Like win something
They are the same fool’s gold team they were in 2019

anyone who thinks CGY is good is a moron

and spare me the THEY HAVE A COACH WHO DID SOMETHING crap

Terry Murray could have easily won those LA Cups. Kings won in spite of him

they built like the 2011 Canucks: gutless, arrogant, soft

The rest of that Atlantic is SOOOOOO overrated it’s not even funny

panthers are a phony fake contender

tanpa hasn’t won a legit Cup

the Bruins have choked for decades save for that one fluke year Tim Thomas turned into Hasek

Leafs would SWEEP the Panthers in four games. They are the cubic zirconia of hockey

Just saw the Keefe and Nylander post-game pressers. Wow. Keefe going to town on 88. Not sure he should've gone quite that far with his condemnation and he had to stop himself to not "pile on". He already had. Sheldon looked extremely uncomfortable or was it anger mixed in with it? That was definitely frustration boiling over. That was like a Kadri moment vs. Boston for Keefe.

Nylander looked like a deer in the headlights during his short Q and A. Props for sitting there like a man and admitting what he did about his own play.

Keefe can say what he wants about wanting that game 82 times. That's completely untrue. He wants a game where he's saying the kinds of things he said about one of his elite talents? No way. You do not want that game, once, much less 82x.

To say Keefe was rattled after that loss is an understatement. He just saw the division slip away. The answers don't seem apparent. Sunday night feels like an impending disaster to me. One of the shakiest goalies in the league is facing the best offense in the NHL since the 90's? The Panthers surely want to send a message to their potential 1st round opponent at SBA. 2nd line is in disarray with a key part likely to be playing on the 3rd line. Not a great set up rolling into what once felt like a huge game for the Leafs. Now, it feels like a giant spanking.

people get worked up over nothing. MTL fluked out a win based on a goalie performance they have never seen from Allen. Leafs easily could have scored 5/6 goals. Leafs dominated from start to finish. MTL got lucky and the refs helped.

I really thought that regular season doesn’t matter, it only matters in playoffs.
Honestly, I enjoy hockey and I enjoy the Leafs but I think these past few years had taught us that it only matters in playoffs.

regular season is the preview and trailer, the playoffs is the main event.

The draft sucks this year

Depends on where you are drafting.

The top 10 isn't bad, but it is not nearly as good as it was hyped up earlier on. Wright is still the best 1st overall option since Matthews though.

11-25 is about average. Although there could be some amazing boom-bust prospects there this year (i.e. Lambert, Mirosnichenko, Geekie, etc.).

25-40 is pretty good this year. Lots to like and not a major drop off from what you can get in the tier before.

Mid-2nd round is a little bit meh, or even lacking a little bit, but once you get into the late-2nd and later, there are some really good prospects. Better than average for the most part; may even rival some of the deeper drafts.

The main thing is that there are not too many (or really any) great goalie prospects. That where this draft is lacking most. Maybe a few less high end upside guys available in the late 2nd and 3rd, but there are more good, high floor complimentary guys instead so it really depends on what you want/need. Great draft for filling out the 2nd tier of your pool with solid prospects; not a great draft if you are hoping for a blue chipper outside of the 1st/early 2nd.

Individual glory versus cups

Point, Pastrnak and even now Crosby/Malkin etc... can easily cheat for individual glory but their coach plans around whats best for the team.

Even Ovi said it that if Leafs want to win in the playoffs they will have to change the way they play (basically: stop cheating for offense).

Barzal could cheat for offense easily too... he played two conference finals play 2 way hockey.

Bergeron/Marchand can easily cheat for offense but they always play defense first especially in the playoffs.

These are just some examples.

On top of that my personal take is that Keefe is not an NHL coach. He is a rookie who is supposedly learning on the job. It was pretty obvious how Torts outcoached him in the CBJ series and how he got outcoached by another crap coach last season
Agree 100%....Keefe is NOT an NHL coach. We deserve the best. Heck I would have even taken Gallant.

Some people here, like in the GDT, will try to act like this was a debacle for the Leafs. It wasn’t. The Leafs were clearly the better team. They once again didn’t get great goaltending. And that game winner was complete garbage. Matthews would have been in that play if he hadn’t had his back skate clipped by the player skating behind him. That’s a clear trip
Matthews backed into the Montreal player, it wasn't a trip at all.

Toronto had no chance to win vs Tampa or Florida in a series. Why would I back a team that loses to crap teams often.

Tampa played as many rounds in the playoffs as any team has in the last few decades, how is it not legit?

It's still a trip. If Matthews was goign forward and the Hab did that it would still be called a trip. It may have been incidental but an incidental or intentional trip is normally a PIM.

Is anyone else sick of Nylander coasting around? The last couple weeks he has been subpar and skating like he doesn't give a shit because he racked up a few points. He scores a few points then takes a couple games off. Sick of him. A little effort from him and he'd be a top player in the NHL but nope, he choses to coast and shy away from corners.

What exactly do you think tripping is? And why are you here anyway?

I have a bit of bad news here: regular season records determine playoff matchups, and when it comes to the playoffs, the Leafs have a kind of history.
