Time for another 'Mitch Marner Appreciation' thread, that will shirley pull some back in.
I *am* serious. And stop calling me...

Ya I saw the tweet like 10 minutes after you asked me. Disappointed. I'm on vacation next week and was looking forward to that match.Thanks. Was asking because my kiddo gifted me tickets, then heard it was cancelled
Then found out it was postponed and being rescheduled.
Yeah, at least we've got the juniors to watch.
This post may not age well….
This may well be true, but I agree it's a bad look for the league. Playing a few games at 50% is not the end of the world. Don't the Coyotes play all their games at 50% capacity?
Yes, it is good for upfront watching of games, but if you can only have 50% capacity today, but that same game could bring in 100% capacity during the Olympic break what would a businessman do?

Not sure what the dates are but here's the SBA calendarI'd imagine a lot of arenas will be booked during that break so I wouldn't bank on that either

Olympic Break was: 7th. to 22nd. February.
Collective Bargaining Agreement, to pause from Feb. 7-22, 2022 to accommodate NHL Player participation in the Olympic Games.

Lots of free days during Olympic break.
Throw a couple afternoon games before the Raptors.
Not a problem.
Is there any reason why they can't extended the season by a week or two?The Leafs could be behind by as many as 10 games before this is finished so even if every day is free it may not be enough

I can't imagine the league wants another season extended
It messes with the off-season
I doubt they want to extend it, but no doubt in my mind their interest in the revenue for both what the players owe and the franchises want will trump off-season inconveniences.
It's going to be worse than that, Canadian teams are going to be so far behind at this rate they will need the extra 2 weeks while the American teams are going to be finished and sitting on their hands
This isn't a very good plan if I'm being honest
New CDC rules do not apply to Canadian teams. With the quaratine now reduced from 10 to 5 days, does that mean all our players except for Liljegren who got placed today can come off protocol assuming they test negative? Or do those players still need to isolate based on the original rules?

How are the American teams going to be finished, when they have to play Canadian teams?
