People needs to understand that if the top guys choke again, it doesn’t matter if Giroux, Gio, Manson and whoever come here at TDL for a bags of pucks, Leafs will most likely be out in the first round again.
If the top guys perform at their regular season level, these depth signings will pay off and Leafs will likely win a round or two and if lucky head to the Cup Finals.

bingo.
our top 2 lines havent produced in the last 4 years lol

dubas did his job. its the players job now.

oh and keefe is on the hot seat if he gets out coached again.

This really shouldn't be complex, but evidently it is for some of you.

The third round pick that was dealt was not announced to be a 2024 pick at the time, and a lot of us posters believed the third round selection that was dealt was the Winnipeg Jets pick we received in the Dermott trade earlier.

That 7th rounder was flipped, but the condition was not met, which I didn't realize.

Being condescending and quoting 3 hour posts in hindsight is easy, reading between the lines, looking at the time of posts, evidently not so much.
There are several possible solutions for you:
1) Check capfriendly.com before you post; and/or
2) Show clearly a "best before" date on your posts; and/or
3) Stop being so condescending in your posts; and/or
4) Don't have a hissy fit if someone responds to your posts in kind.
I hope that is not too complex for you.

I wouldn't expect much more than a 3rd/4th line role.

Might be nice with Mikheyev and Kampf on that checking line .. But likely slots on the fourth line.

Oh, I don’t expect more than a 4th line energy winger, but that’s how he plays. I could see him getting some reps on the 2nd line as a puck hound, but it’s nothing more than wishful thinking that he sticks.

I agree with this.

Wouldnt be shocked to see him brought in as an insurance policy if Engvall is moved shortly.

Capfriendly is not psychic and cannot announce the details of a trade that have yet to emerge, my post was merely based off of speculation at the time it was made.

I'll try to remember that the ability to tell time is a skill that certain individuals here have yet to conquer.

Thanks for the advice!

We paid the right price for a Ron Hainsey level acquisition. A 2nd + a 6/7D who was very capable of losing you games with dumb decisions is not bad for a solid #4D

Blackwell I think will have a super playoff run. Something like 11 goals and 8 assists in 25 games type run where he's the hero for us in big moments. Really like that we got him.

I've always liked Giordano and thought he would get a 1st from someone. Happy that Dubas got him w/o using a 1st.
He's a leader on and off the ice. Awesome personality, in fact his family were great in the Calgary community.

A leader, mentor and not a bad hockey player. I think he'll do well for us and I hope we can re-sign him for a reasonable amount in the off season.
I would give him 3 years as I think he has enough in the tank to last at least 3 more years. And when he decides to hang them up, keep him in the organisation to help with the young guys.

Blackwell, although a smallish player plays above his size and takes no shit from anyone. Still question marks about him but this trade IMO is a win for the Leafs.

Sad to see Travis go as he's a decent guy but just didn't have what we needed. Wish him the best with Vancouver.

At least blame the right people if you're going to talk about it, when your stars aren't your best players in the series, you're going to lose.
Kerfoot is not a top 6, and not heavy enough fir 3rd line center to control the other teams who are bigger and tougher. I know Keefe loves skill, but how funny first round exit are necessary to see we are not built or coached to win.
Go Leafs
