Pass from this leaf fan pov. While petry is nice, he's also 32 turning 33 and don't foresee a contract that starts with less than 6 and term on his next deal. Domi is also a fine player and brings a different skillset than nylander, but also has no term and would likely be asking for a contract at 5-6m. Dermott is clearly the least valuable player in the deal, but his value lies in that the leafs can still bridge him at 3m or so based on comps. So at best the leafs walk away even in cap space, upgrade their right side and hope domi can put up 60pts and play with snarl. At worst they get an aging vet who is at the point where his play will start dropping off, an increase in the ammount of cap space being used, and a 40pt domi making around 5m on the third line. Imo, the leafs will be making moves with more cost certainty than this.
