I was rewatching the final minute and Soup the forward being the first to congratulate and hug Soup the goalie was just the perfect end.
About as boring a win as you could hope for.
Draisaitl is the least impressive looking superstar in the league. Eyes don't match the numbers.
Highly doubt it was the lack of fans. It's the fact we have only played 2 games in the past 21 days. We had terrible timing on passing and knowing where to be more than lack of effort/jump.Thought we played sluggish tonight, seems like they have lost a pep in their step without the fans in the building, anyways its the Oilers so not surprising we won tonight.
On to a Colorado and a building full of fans.
I work with a huge Oilers fan and he was telling me at the start of the season that the Leafs are screwed because they let Andersen go. Then went on to tell me that the Oilers goaltending is legit, and the Leafs made a huge mistake letting Hyman walk.
That guy is in shambles now and it's hilarious
Trust me that isn't an opinion formed tonight. I can see the numbers he produces. When I watch him play, he rarely actually impresses me.Sure was. Good night for it from my POV, I had a bit of an anxiety attack and couldn't sit still so I played online blitz chess for the first two periods until I felt more stable LOL. I had the game on though so I was in tune with how boring it was.
Ugly wins still count for 2 points so I'm happy. We need to play better against Colorado though, we'll see.
I wouldn't make any judgements based on tonight, Drai is one of the best players in the game today.

I never said anything about luck...and again I can read. I know how many points he has scored. Has nothing to do with what I said.I don't know what games you are watching. The Leafs have done a pretty good job shutting him down but he hasn't lucked his way into 421 points over the past 4.5 seasons

It’s not just Marner’s play but the effect he has on his line mates and the powerplay. Both have not looked good since his return. He tries to be too cute and lackadaisical with the puck. On the pp, the players defer to him instead of shooting. Very concerning.Solid W, but Marner’s play is concerning.
I'd rather live in a country with a lower death rate by a magnitude of 3x, and in the States, it isn't the federal government that has to pay for you if you end up needing care in ICU.It is crazy watching the NFL then watching a NHL game being played in Canada.
75k people with more tailgating into zero!
Somehow there has to be a middle ground.
Usually when he is playing it is the Oilers I am watching.I am just curious to what games you are watching?
I see him being a dominate player all the time. Except against the Leafs
Marner often has the puck against multiple players all around and on top of him and still make plays, while 99% of the plays to maintain possession while the other 99% of the league would have already lost the puck or not had it in the first place.
Maybe people could write down what they want Marner to do on top of all that he already does, so we can know if he ever reaches these lofty standards that you surely hold others players to.

Sounds like someone who’s been collecting their regular paycheque the entire pandemicI'd rather live in a country with a lower death rate by a magnitude of 3x, and in the States, it isn't the federal government that has to pay for you if you end up needing care in ICU.
Yeah he kind of reminds me of a worse defensive version of prime Thornton. He can play a very simple game but gets things done in terms of production. Goes to the net in clean lines, distributes the puck quickly, rips them on net.
Cobra - KKlutchIf Mikheyev can keep the offensive touch our forward group is set IMO
Mikheyev - Kampf - Kase is a great defensive line with wingers who can make plays in the offensive zone

He is not a get you out of your seat every shift player but the zone entry he made early and the backhand pass to Koekkeok deserves to be finished. Game changes of Slater buries that ridiculous set up. His ability to possess and dish is remarkable.. he even tried shooting more tonight. Do they do expected goal stats in the NHL like they do for soccer?I never said anything about luck...and again I can read. I know how many points he has scored. Has nothing to do with what I said.
