Yeah I think he got his start in corporate throught he Leiweke in-law connection so makes sense to go back to the family business.

why is it a weird flex? He’s getting a promotion and it was probably a family decision (aka his wife wanting to be closer to her dad now)

Seems like the natural progression for someone hoping to be an NHL GM one day.

I think he got promoted to Director of Pro Scouting in 2018 - John Lilley was made head of amateur scouting for the 2018 draft
