Why should they care? They should go hard to risk an injury when Bunting,Kase,Lilly,JT are all hurt/dealing with minor injuries?

These games are legit meaningless, it's not like they are playing this bad when there fighting for a playoff spot.

There are no meaningless games. Every night is a chance to send a message and assert dominance. Great teams want to win for the sake of winning because they like the feeling of it. The Ottawa and Winnipeg games were also “meaningless” last year and the Leafs no showed. That went well.

I’m not saying I don’t get it, just that they’re playing very poor, very lazy/low energy hockey.

Home ice advantage DOES matter in the playoffs, though. We’ll need every advantage we can get against the Lightning.

I wonder what playing Tampa game 1 at home does to them pressure wise. They lose it, and Toronto will be in sky is falling mode. Lose game 2 and oh boy.

This reminds me of the 2nd year we played Bruins in the playoffs where Leafs were ahead but could not claim home ice and we all thought Bruins will kill us but was glad the series went to 7 games.
