Canucks want to clear salary and the Leafs are looking for a top 6 forward. Could this work ?

To
Vancouver
2024 2nd
2023 3rd
Kerfoot
Engvall

To
Toronto
Boeser. 1 million retained

Kerfoot and Engvall can both fetch a 3rd at the deadline so a 2nd , 3rd x3 and Engvall had very good chemistry with Mikheyev. This also clears 5.6 million in cap for the Canucks for next season onward.

Bruh…..

Boeser is worth much more than that, he ain’t gonna stay a 0 goal scorer forever

Why do people think he would get so much more via trade right now
Because a minimum 25 goal 50 point player gets a first minimum with no cap coming back, kerfoot is fine, but engval is 1.2 mil of dead cap

he is minimum that nowadays? can you give me a scenario where a team could trade for him, give up the type of package you suggest with no salary coming back to vancouver - and/or a comparable trade for this type of player?

i like him - but his play is atrocious right now, he can't stay healthy, he is a complimentary player on his line regardless, and i believe 14 or 15th highest paid RW in the GAME..

really?

Cant see how OP justifies Boeser alone, then retention is layered on top?

Some team will offer multiple more promising upside assets, than the single 2nd, to add sharpshooting wing

I would probably do it 2bh
Big fan ld wngvall, Picks and cap space retention decent.
Don’t mind it at all, Kerfoot dumped after this year also.

Yeah we should totally trade Boeser for a 2nd in 2 years so even if it is one of the 15-20% of second rounders that make the NHL the player will be 3-5 years away. A 3rd in 2023 - a deep draft year, but this is a very late 3rd so potentially a 8-10% chance of making the NHL in 3-5 years. Engvall, a solid bottom 6 winger, but a bottom 6 winger and Kerfoot a very vanilla top 9 winger that might be able to get the Canucks another long shot pick. So with the retention the only asset that really will remain after this season will be 3 very far off, low probability lottery tickets and $5.6 in cap space to use next year.

last couple years
23 Goals 46 points
23 Goals 49 Points
16 Goals 45 Points

His one knock is his ability to stay healthy, which he can’t, but either way the leafs are giving up no quality. He’s a better player than when rakell was traded and he got 2nd+. Kyle Palmieri got a 1st with no cap dumps being sent back. Nick Foligno got a 1st while he plays the game well he was pacing for around 30 points

2nd + 3rd is alright
Kerfoot doesn’t hold value to other teams as he does to us
Engval is 1.2 mil in dead cap

That imo doesn’t get it done

Myers and Boeser for Marner + a small add.

I take it most people don't watch many Canucks games. Boeser's injuries have really taken a toll on him. His skating looks broken. He can't keep up with the play and is constantly reacting just slightly too late. He has enough skill to keep the play going and pick up assists but his once feared shot has completely disappeared. He underwent wrist surgery, again, during training camp and had to sit out more time when the surgery scar opened back up. He's had one notable shot this season and hit the crossbar. Even if his shot was what it used to be, his other aforementioned injuries prevent him from getting into positions where he can use it.

Great guy. Want the absolute best for him. I'd be more than thrilled to move him anywhere else and just pocked the capspace.

Vector!

Use your political pull behind the scenes so that I can like your posts again, haha (I'm just kidding). Great post though I completely agree.

Boeser is having a HORRIBLE year and he's still put up 10 points in 12 games
Carrer goals per game is 30 on average over his career. He gets hurt though so he never plays a full season. Not a good skater but usually seems to produce.

i dont think i'd take that package for him... especially with cap retention.
sorry :(

I don't think they will but I guess it's possible.
