Maybe not per period, but other than the first few games of the season they went through a long stretch where they weren't doing it at all - or at least it was very infrequent. All of a sudden, we're looking defensively porous and 5v5 a much weaker team.

I don't know nt remember them being much better defensively. I remember turnovers but not in the category we've seen tonight.
I don't think it's possible to play perfect hockey so I expect tur overs and defensive gaps

So that said I expect the defense to go up and down during the season and even during games. At least that's what good teams do
