We should make a pact tomorrow nobody says anything negative. Even Holl is safe.
It's a nice thought and I support it wholly, but if the GDT makes it past 25 posts before the whining starts, I'll be the most surprised guy in the room.
Also that so called giveaway on his behalf was a trip that caused that
Should have been a penalty
But sone of the peeps here just don’t get this sport , just the result of the play
People have to just let go of the past, it's that simple.
Not sure how anyone can blame other fans for being angry or assuming a loss. They are completely justified for feeling that way. It’s up to this team to prove everyone wrong and they can only do that by winning this series.
No they're not justified, post game sure but not pregame because every game is a new game, every period is a new period. What happened in the past does NOT predicate the future.

I don't think there is any reason to disrespect a player on your own team, sure you may not like them but that doesn't mean that they're whatever name you can think of calling them, save that shite for the opposition.

I've been a fan for a really long time and yes I get frustrated and sometimes angry, but for good reasons. Everybody makes mistakes, everybody can have bad luck, those are things that you may not like, but that you have to accept. The things you don't have to accept are lackadaisical play, indifference or laziness, on ice selfishness, things that affect the team dynamic negatively, then maybe you can bitch about that player, but nobody has to lose their mind and act like a 12 year old.

Credit to Keefe. I said he needed to earn his stripes and use home ice advantage properly. He got the Matthews line away from Point/Cirelli enough to help them control the game more. Matthews most common forward opponents were Paul, Stamkos and Hagel. It was against Tampa's third line that the winning goal was scored.

It's honestly a low bar but considering Keefe let Cirelli get matched up most of the time in Game 2, I'm happy to see the adjustment.

What a rollercoaster of a game

Our top guys showed up and took over the game.

Campbell made key saves

They conquered some playoff adversity and need to keep the momentum and prove they can close out a series

They can now reward the GM who stuck out his neck for them, by closing it out or they can throw him and their coach under the bus by folding in games 6 and 7 as they did last year. They may have turned the corner last night and gone from playoff boys top men. Finish it.

Makes me wonder if he's concerned about their confidence given how often it's being thrown out there after losses

IMO they have been toying with us since that 8-1 win, calling us soft and thinking they can beat us whenever they want. Last night's game may have been an awaking for them and we may have put a little thought in their heads that maybe they can't beat us. Last night could have been a back breaker for them. We have to pounce on them in game #6, put them behind the 8 ball so that they pretty much concede (one can hope given they are battle hardened).

First goal has determined the winner so far in this series. Until last night. Gusty come back win after being complete dog crap in the first.

John Copper can go f*** himself with his stupid comments. The only reason Tampa got any goals in the first is because the Leafs gave them that period.

Time for the Leafs to break Tampa. Beat them at home to win the series.

Go Leafs Go!

Nothing wrong with showing confidence in your team.

Seen his name mentioned a few times. What did he do?
In the presser the other day he basically reiterated the LeaFland erroneous position on Justin Holl's abilities as an NHL DMAN and wondered why Keefe was playing him.

Jon Cooper is so british/australian gangsta though, I cannot help but admire the guy. Never played a dime in the NHL, incredible NHL coaching record. Love to meet him. Drain his brain in chatter.

But after we win in seven, or six, he won't be in the chatting mood I imagine.

One more gets the monkey off their backs, saves everybody's jobs and might make them an unstoppable force.
Always go one game at a time. No reason to think a head. The main goal is the Cup, but you can't win it in the first round. Thinking a head takes the focus out the main mission to win the next game. It also opens the door to those "we can finish it at home" or "we split the series" talks. Forget those and concentrate on winning next game with everything you got.

John Copper can go f*** himself with his stupid comments. The only reason Tampa got any goals in the first is because the Leafs gave them that period.
He'll sing different tune after the series if we push his team out of the playoffs. Until that we get these stupid mind games. These won't help Tampa at all, but let him try.

Dubas' hasn't been popular over the last few games. But so far it's looking more like he's made the right bet on the teams goaltending.
Trying and failing isn’t the ‘right bet’.
All good as long as Campbell stays healthy

I mean, you can see a difference, right?

Being upset that the leafs lost and not going on a hockey board, vs being upset that the leafs won and not going on a hockey board?
If you believe that’s all it is

Makes me wonder if he's concerned about their confidence given how often it's being thrown out there after losses
what are you talking about? if anything they get over confident after a win. Just as we do. I fully expect this series to go 7. Cooper is a back to back cup winning coach. He might be on to something to perpetuate that his team is in full control of every outcome.

Who cares?

absolutely disastrous first 30 minutes of this game. We had absolutely zero jump even with the crowd practically willing the boys into the game. If it were not for Jack this game was a repeat of Sunday's. He made some absolutely game saving saves at 2-0 that kept us in this game. Without those saves we are dead in the water.

I did like our game after the 2-1 goal, it just cannot take until the 30 minute mark to wake up in game 6. Excellent 3rd period. Probably the best 3rd period the boys have played all year TBH. Just had a feeling something special was going to happen.

It was an emotional roller coaster to say the least, but that was one of the more iconic wins I have seen this team pull off in my life. Right up there with Stumpy Thomas GTG + GWG, and Mats GTG against Carolina in the final minute.

We've seen this group follow a win like this up with a stinker so many times. the CBJ comeback in game 4 of the play-in instantly comes to mind. I really hope this win is a career defining moment for Mitch/Auston/WIlly/JT/Mo...etc. I hope they get it done in game 6 and after a lengthy playoff run they look back on yesterdays game as the moment where they found their confidence to win it all.

great fight, need a better start next game. I'll finish with 1 final word....

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPP!!!!
