Hirvonen with 2 more posts today. Same bad luck he had last year. Could easily have 3 goals already this tournament, meanwhile he is pointless.
 
Niemela has looked okay so far but not stellar but a few things about his game really excite me. Firstly is his ability to be efficient when making plays. He always reads and reacts to plays and doesn't hang on to pucks too long or get beat a ton one on one by forwards rushing at him. He needs to improve his first step back and pivots, however. The other thing that I absolutely love is his uncanny ability to get pucks through to the net. Whether it's a floater or a bomb of a shot, the kid knows how to hit the net and not the bodies between him and the goalie. Not sure if he's going to develop into a top pairing guy ever but I think he might fit well into the bottom 4 on D and provide much needed RH shooting option from the point on the PP.

His ability to get the shot through is really a credit to his ability to skate laterally along the blue line until he sees the lane open up.

His partner looks bad, I think he's been super conservative.

Feels like a forfeit would really damage the quality and integrity of tournament itself so we shall see.
 
Disappointing that we are cancelling games for 2 players testing positive.

I think I’ve moved on to the NFL stance of only testing the fully vac’d when symptomatic.
 
I was surprised they had such a limit on players for this tournament, but does it matter if the entire team has been exposed?

Not looking good for the completion of this tournament now.
 
Just goes to show you the kind of thing that could happen at the Olympics too. Can you imagine going into a gold medal game and a few players test positive... in China? Having to forfeit and hand the gold to the other team? Wow, could happen still.

Healthy vaccinated kids with no symptoms having to stay out... then forfeit a game risking seeding for their tourney play.... This is truly absurd policy at any point, enough of this overly cautious charade.
