I am all for toughness but to be fair Lilly is tougher that Holl and way better at moving the puck
Lilly has glimpses of an edge, but it takes time.to get there consistently. Having him and/or Holl as the 7th DMan is not an indictment on either of them. This is a very strong eight D Men.

Playoffs are going to be in the trenches. It's the book on T.O.

So you want wins and mentioned hits as an indicator of what you need, yet Muzzin had 7 hits and was on the ice for 5 goals against last game lol More hits means you don't have the puck as often.

Get the puck. I don't care if you have 0 hits if you don't get scored on.

Not to mention that's 7 hits closer to the one that ends his career.

This lineup looks strong and I like it (would like to see Clifford on the wing but I am splitting hairs).

Sorry folks. I really like Lilly, he and Sandin will play key roles in this teams future but playoffs will be a mans game. Five years of this core losing? They need all the tough players they can muster.

Please, think back to the types that run us over in the playoffs.
Then why do you want to put in lesser performing men? Perhaps the reason the Leafs have lost 5 first rounds in a row is because of the very thing you want to do....play shittier older players over youngsters.

Fun fact. Giordano has 23 career playoff games in his NHL career. Liljegren has 33 AHL playoff games including a championship and was a major reason why.

I'm not sure I understand your point. Should Lilly play ahead of Giordano?

Playing defense in the NHL is substantially tougher than in the minors. You can throw a 19 year old forward on a line, wind them up and go (especially on a strong team) without much worry since the hope is the play will be at the other end of the ice.

I've liked Lillies game the last couple of weeks. He is positionally sound and it's clear he is going to become a good defenseman. Maybe even a great one. I've seen enough hockey to know how the playoffs are going to be played.

My concern remains how a young D Man will deal not just with position on the rush, but, the heavy battling in front of the net. This is where the game is going to be played, the Panthers showed this last game in what was supposed to be more a statement game for them than for the Leafs.

If he plays in the playoffs, he plays. I am voicing my trepidation. If Holl is pulled for him, it will be because Keefe has faith that Lilly will handle the physical battles in front for 15-20 hard minutes.

Bet the farm that the minutes in the regular season will become much harder in three weeks. Last playoffs Holl was +5. I have faith that he will rise to the occasion when it enters the mud.

Harnarayan Singh with the call for the game tonight. So thrilled for him.

As a fellow Punjabi, the idea of him possibly getting to call Matthews historic moment, gives me goosebumps.
His call will have actual enthusiasm and and energy too. Hughson is monotone as hell whenever we score

IMO Holl is the odd man out so far for the playoffs. BUT it wont last long as injuries always happen and if they dont someone will have a poor performance and he will be quickly rotated back in. Boosh needs to play as he just provides so much physicality back there that our team desperately needs.

hahahaha Are you medicated already?

Hopefully Leafs get a couple Ws coming up here. Dallas and Habs are pretty easily beatable.

They need to stop playing down to their opponents. 2nd in the division would be nice. I still think home ice is important.

The pressure is all on Dallas tonight... they're in a fight for the playoffs. Hopefully Leafs play a solid game if Campbell is feeling good they got this.

Yeah Boosh is the most limited of all our dmen imo. He's not useless but he's not one of our top 6 D.

I like him better tham Bogo at least.
Damning by faint praise.
II can one up you, I like Bogo better than Polak
