This'll probably be a tough one, Dallas is fighting for their playoff lives so they'll be going all out.

A win tonight opens up a 5 point gap ahead of the BOS/TB game on Friday. Would be nice to establish that separation and get home ice

Surprised Spezza isn’t drawing in against his old team. Maybe the practice lines won’t reflect game time?

Dallas has a knack for not showing up in these tough ones.....that said, I'd very much like to see it at least be a close one.

Wedgewood in goal for Dallas, btw. Bowness deciding to give Oettinger a break leading into the weekend I guess. We'll soon see if that was a wise move.

So Muzzin - Brodie eh! if what i think is going to happen actually happens how soon does Keefe split them and play Brodie with Morgs and puts Lube with Muzzin! Do you think it's possible that Dubas and Keefe make the right decision in regard to the defense

Gio-Holl will have a nice quiet and solid night

Oettinger was spectacular last time we faced, glad he's getting a rest against us lol

It's fun that we loved Muzzin so much when he came in and now it seems that he doesn't fit into our top6. We had great chemistry, so I think it's stupid to hustle like this. I think it would have been beneficial to send Muzzin to Marlies for two games and then ease him in. It will take few games to get up to game speed and reality is, that our defense is good enough without rusty Muzzin.

I think the narrative in playoffs is that you need experienced physical dman and Muzzin is right in that mold. So getting him up to game speed is probably good for us, but it should be done properly. If you have two functioning pairs keep those intact and try to create third one.

Now we have three new pairs in second game that Muzzin is in, so first Keefe basically changed two pairs for first game, then Keefe changes one pair back and those two other pairs are also changed. What the hell. Should have kept some intact, but yeah... I don't know.

I think it's mostly positive that we don't have to see Marincin in the playoffs. Dubas has done tremendous job building up the defense. If Keefe could calm down.

Come the playoffs, were going to need skill and were also going need the type of defenders that break the rules. I don't like it, but that's the game the NHL wants in the post season. We need to be prepared to play both styles.

This better be one game. If Holl fails here, he should be out. If not, than Keefe's fascination with him is on the same level as Babcock's was with Hyman.

So using that analogy . . . you're saying in three years Holl will become a solid second pairing D man with a decent amount of skill?

I am honestly convinced that Holl has incriminating photos on Keefe, Shanny and Dubas.

How the f*** is Lilly likely going to be a healthy scratch over him?

I'm with you man. Everyone shitting on Holl when we won 5 straight playing well defensively with him in the lineup prior to Muzz coming back.

Clifford is a useless plug who does nothing except take stupid penalties that always seem to cost us.
He has three penalties in his last five games since being called up, and one of them was a fighting major, so really just two that had the potential to be costly. Holl has six in his last six. :dunno:

But if Cliff isn’t going to throw the body he really isn’t as asset right now. And Holl was on for a lot of the goals against vs Florida, he just happened to be on for a lot against Florida too so his +/- that game is deceiving.

Keefe is obviously trying different combinations and seeing what truly clicks. Stop the panic. They know what they’re doing

Those pairs should lead to a lighter competition load for Rielly, which is good, but also probably leads to fewer minutes which isnt great. And of course it means we're stuck seeing Boosh on offensive zone faceoffs again, which is pretty ugly.

Hopefully Keefe moves Brodie up with Mo for some of those ozone faceoffs. That'll also up Mo's minutes.

If Keefe does get addicted to the Boosh longterm, I will say that I hope Lilly gets in the lineup over Holl.

Not sure where the bolded is coming from, but it seems your eye test is deceiving you. The Rielly-Boosh pair's O-Zone start % is only around 37%, which ranks 2nd lowest on the team (lowest was the Dermott-Boosh pair). The pair also only averages 5.8 O-Zone starts per 60 (3rd lowest on the team), behind the Dermott-Boosh and Sandin-Boosh pair. Basically whatever pair Boosh is on doesn't start many shifts in the offensive zone

That's what has been great about the Rielly-Boosh pair so far. A Morgan Rielly pair is defending the high danger areas well, while not needing sheltered zone starts. I actually thought I would never see this on a Morgan Rielly pair.

The rotation idea only should apply to players who are struggling.
Only a mental midget would take your best D pair and split it up .. did you watch Florida game? F*ck Gio and Lily were BY FAR best pairing on either team and it was not even remotely close .. I really think it is p*ss poor coaching
