Jack hasn't been good lately, that doesn't mean the defense doesn't deserve criticism.

Stop giving the defense a free pass. It's a team game, everyone needs to pull their weight.

If Jack is being beaten regularly from the circle or on softies, then it's on him. Most goals have been in tight with more than one body around the net. The D needs to be tougher and better positioned.

If our D takes an offense first approach in too may circumstances, no amount of offense from the forwards will make up for it.

I can see a tight defensive effort from the Bud's tonight, they'll limit Jerseys chances by controlling the middle of the ice. Willie and JT are going to shine, and the giraffes in the right place at the right time bags the winner in the 2nd

Agree 100%. Jack hasn't been good lately but he hasn't been that bad either (better than his numbers anyway IMO). The team defense though, just brutal.

I have hopes this year. Usually our mid season swoon doesn't result in 8-2-1 records.

Now get back to playing pre Jan hockey and fine tune for the playoffs.

That also doesn’t mean JT is overpaid, just that Willy is massively underpaid.

Leafs need to give Jack a solid win before the break. That means, if they get a lead don't see it as an opportunity to pad their stats, D stop pinching deep into the Devils zone, Liljegren don't try and deke through the neutral zone with one man back, no no-look D-zone clearing passes, etc.

The last thing the team needs is an extended layoff with Soup's confidence not where it needs to be.
