2G and 2A vs Canada Tonight in U18. How is this guy only considered a late 2nd Round pick?
Some of my viewings when he was playing for Tappara in Liiga he was making some pretty poor decisions, not just simple mistakes too, a few blatant errors as the last man back that really bothered me. Maybe what some scouts saw too. But his stock is definitely improving this tournament, he's looked great!

Only 5 messages for a guy I've seen in the NHL for years... I have long thought that Hamara was the best Czech born in 2004. Player to be selected in the 2nd round. Then it's a robbery.
Him, svozil and jiricek give some hope to that flailing Czech program.

Everytime I've seen him he's in a age group above him. First time seeing him play peers... Looks damn good.

Curious where he gets drafted? 2nd, 3rd or 4th round.

I like Tichacek a lot too. Very different from the other 3.

It's a change from lumberjacks like Polak.

I think he may surprise in the next few years.

I've seen nastier defensemen get drafted.

Yeah, with these players, our D definitely looks better in the future. Now I saw young Galvas in U16 and he looked ... great, maybe I can write it like this. Great reading of the game, cleverness won him personal fights (it will be a terrible machine translation ..), where he did not even need to use force (which in the future will certainly have to do), support the attack level .. no I do not want to praise him too much so that he does not sting. But definitely another interesting player.

Could definitely see him make his way over, if his NHL team nudges him in that direction.

Hamara has played 4 seasons with Tappara and already 26 Liiga games too. For reference Slovakian Samuel Knazko (2020, 3rd round) wasn't getting Liiga games with TPS even in his D+2 year, so clearly Hamara is way ahead of Knazko at the same age. Read opinions about Hamara on Tappara forum and most people there seem to be excited about him and hope he gets more games and more opportunity next season.

I kept saying everytime I saw him he was playing against older peers (and adults). I'm assuming he has a damn good year in the CHL. He'll be playing his peers full time.

I think he will have a +1 season comparable to Hronek, and it will be good for his development.

Different level of prospect and all, I know, but I wonder if all these Czech players going to the CHL has any influence on where Jiricek will spend the season. Svozil had a good D+1 year in the dub, now Hamara going to the O, Spacek got drafted out of the Q. I know Jiricek is farther ahead than all these guys and has a ton of experience at the pro level, but he also had a couple tough injuries, struggled at the WJC after getting Covid, and a year of high-level junior hockey wouldn’t hurt him. I could see him starting in the AHL and then finishing the year in Spokane if he doesn’t take the steps the Blue Jackets are expecting from him.

For Svozil, Hamara, Spacek and Mysak - CHL made sense.

I'm not sure it does for Jiricek... guess we'll see what Columbus does but he's on another level then those guys (well, not at the summer tourney but I think that was Covid related).

I feel like the Sens really just landed a 1st round pick talent here with Hamara. I'm very excited to see this guys progression. He has a quality tool box, and I think has the drive and will to succeed.

Lots of guys have talent but dont maximize it for whatever reasons. This kid seems hungry though and will force himself to be recognized. Love this pic by the sens.

I feel like he'll crack the NHL and stay a little while... 3 years?

Got credited with 2 primary assists in his OHL debut (preseason)

after watching the highlights; rebound goal + puck dump with crazy bounces
