For a guy who just turned 19 a couple of months ago - he has been great. If he was 2 inches taller he would have been picked in the 2nd round. Nevertheless, he is doing very well with the tools he has. I think many people will be surprised during the WJC.

I've been really impressed by him. Immediately stood out in the exhibition game against Canada and he was good again against the US. Very positive surprise for me.

He is making a case. As I wrote in a different thread. Given our D squad guys might get promoted/demoted on merit over the course of the tournament. Chistyakov is well on his way to solidify his 1st pairing claim.

I don't understand why there is not more talk about this guy. Is hockey IQ is through the roof. Always makes great decisions with the puck. To me, he was the most impressive russian player at the WJC. What a steal by Nashville
