Yeah, because they traded it to the Sharks for Erik Karlsson, and then the Sharks used 42nd overall (Pens had two picks in the mid-40's) to move up with the Pens pick to get Dickinson.

Amazing player who I really like and was high on for the draft, but I'm also beginning to think that points in the OHL aren't worth what they used to be.
Compared to when?

Regardless of the actual point totals, he's currently sitting 3rd in the league as a defenseman. I doubt he'll maintain this pace but if he does... he's going to make teams regret passing on him.

Dickinson's point totals are very confusing, and I say this as someone who has watched most of his games this season. The simplest way I can put it is that things happen when he's on the ice. He's outscoring the likes of Cowan, Barkey, Bonk, O'Reilly, and Nichol by literally almost a half a point per game. It's not like he's riding the coattails of anyone else.

I think it's fair to say that London's scorers are pretty generous. Cowan's point streak demands it.

That's a stretch to say the least don't you think?

Some people get excited about the points (it's the fantasy hockey people) NHL GMs get excited about the scouting report of this guy.

Basically his floor is of a more physical Nick Leddy type and I really like Nicks career.

It's a stretch to say that the Penguins almost certainly could have packaged picks 14 and 45 to get Sam Dickinson? Unless you think the difference between pick 42 and pick 45 is truly a deal-breaker...
Sure they could have but in reality they probably wouldn't have and I get that people don't like Dubas but give him blame in real life not pretend situations.

If he keeps this up, he's on pace to record 124 points . When was the last time a D-man recorded more than 100 in the OHL?

Anyone have a link to a good recent shift by shift video of this player?

Meh. Up until this point Dickinson had been having a great defensive game against a very good Oshawa team and Sennecke had been worse than invisible at even strength.
Man that was a sick move on a very good Dman, shades of Mario making Bourque look like a pylon.

You have to give it to Sennecke but I feel your pain as you are going to see a lot of him as a Sharks fan.

Got absolutely undressed by Sennecke.

That was just downright sick.

You act as if it wasn't an amazing move that 99.999% of CHL Dmen would have trouble with.

Amazingly talented forward does a nifty move, how about the focus should be that?
You are reading a lot more into my post than was there. He got absolutely walked on a great goal. Doesn't mean that much, but I would say in a 14 page thread it is worth bringing up.

I agree it’s just like at the draft everyone (except me) hated the sennecke pick 3rd overall. Now everyone is in love with the kid.

People love taking the imaginary time machines and going back and changing things.

Dubas is definitely not to blame.
