Overshadowed (deservedly) by fellow freshman Spartans' defenseman Artyom Levshunov going into the 2024 NHL Draft, Geary is in his final year of draft eligibility.

Combines hardness and skill (the Buffalo area native had over 200 penalty minutes in two seasons with the USHL's Waterloo Black Hawks), he looks like a player that might be worth selecting in the late rounds.

Unheralded, but Geary is probably the NCAA overager likely to get be drafted highest this year. Good physicality, mobility, high defensive awareness in his 19-year old for a contending team. The MS coaching staff gave him a lot of responsibility this year as a freshman and I think he excelled.

Who knows if he does get picked, but kid has some qualities that can translate to the pro level nicely. Maybe needs to work on his first few steps, but aside from that, he is solid everywhere for the most part.
