I bought these tickets 3 1/2 years ago at a heavily discounted price expecting to do this in 2000 but the world stopped.

The train leaves Vancouver on Friday afternoon and arrives in Toronto on TUESDAY. I will fly Porter back to Logan.

I am told both wifi and cellular service will be extremely limited on the train......but the scenery will be spectacular.

If I tried to buy the same ticket today it would cost

Fare: $12,522.00
G.S.T./H.S.T.: $626.10
P.S.T.: $0.00
TOTAL CAD$: $13,148.10

I paid $1,214.40 CAD in February 2020

I can't wait.

Oh wow, that will be awesome. I've never done a long-distance train journey but I really like the idea of it. Great chance to just chill out and enjoy the view. Enjoy!!

That will be amazing, I have always wanted to go on the Rocky Mountaineer through the mountains. My Dad worked for CP Rail and I learned a lot about Rogers Pass. If you haven't seen a documentary on it, I highly recommend watching one. It is an amazing feat but tarnished because of the labour used. I hope you have a wonderful time!!! It will be spectacular!

My daughter grows her tomato plants from seeds that she collects from her garden in the Fall. She asked if I wanted any this year, so I said I would take one. This "one" is now taking over....lol We are going to have bushels of tomatoes soon!

What variety is it?

I've grown some romas and black krim tomato plants, but my soil is pretty crappy and they always end up getting stunted and maxing out at like 2-3 feet. I just transplanted one the other day after trying to work some compost and new garden soil into the garden, but it's got some pretty bad transplant shock and I don't know if it will bounce back or not. I should've used a transitional pot and hardened it off a little bit instead of going straight from the hydroponic starter kit to the garden.

i just started a cherry tomato pod in my click and grow. Also started some lettuce, lavender and lemon and regular basil. I am also trying to grow 2 different types of dwarf zinnias. We shall see what happens in the next month

I think I might do that next spring. I'm just too cheap to buy the materials for it.
You can get them from Gardener Supplies. They have metal and cedar ones.

If I move and end up with a balcony I am going to get a Greenstalk to grow tomatoes and cucumbers along with some flowers.

I set up some solar lights in the backyard for my dad, he has yet to see it. Something he's been meaning to do but I figured let me knock this one off his list for him.

This is what it looked like last night. It has two modes. Super bright or low mode.

This was super bright. I loved it. But tonight I'm gonna try lower mode to see how it illuminates the Blessed Mother.

My youngest has been trying out for elite travel softball teams in central Mass the last couple of weeks, to the point where we've been at a softball field just about every day for the last two weeks. We just got the call that she was selected for my first choice of programs, so I'm ecstatic for her. I couldn't be more proud of the hard work and dedication she's put into this process, especially since she's done a lot of it on her own by watching youtube videos for drills to practice. We started very late in this travel softball world (she plays 12U), and there are a ton of kids all vying for the same small handful of spots since most of the other kids on the teams have been playing for those programs for years and she'd only been playing recreationally for our town, which doesn't have any real coaching happening.

Proud dad moment for me. We haven't told her yet because her first choice of teams has a tryout she's going to this evening and we don't want to disrupt her focus and drive, but I'm so thrilled her dedication and work has opened at least one door for her thus far.

Sorry for the long rant/humble brag about my daughter, but I'm so pumped for her that I had to vent before I exploded! lol

I'm not one for travel but years ago, at the suggestion of a friend, I reserved a sleeper on the train from Boston to Albany at Christmas time.

I really enjoyed the privacy and the scenery. A great way to travel.
