My family is under the gun in Vernon.

If you are preparing here are some tips we live by here in OK:

Wear sneakers!
Gather any important documents
Make sure electronics are charged so you can watch/listen to coverage
Listen to the meteorologists. MA is so lucky to have a number of pro’s who have studied and/or worked with some of the top tornado people in the country.

If you work from home, take your work stuff with you if you do have to shelter.

Lastly, don’t go and try to take photos or video! Rain wrapped tornadoes are the biggest fear besides nocturnal ones.

We’re down the Cape for the week. Today is a bar hopping day.

I love a good Cape Cod storm.

Daisy Buchanon's is long gone, right? Sure you know Derek and Broadway Joe owned a stake in that place.

Remember Charlie's on Newbury St.?

There was also an Italian restaurant on the corner of Newbury and ___ . I forget the name. 1990s. (Edit: Cio Bella.)

Very nice. Very much "In the family."
Daisy's is long gone, and I did know the history -- Turk and Broadway Joe must have been quite a pair together.

At Daisy's and Dads we'd bump into many of the Bruins players there around last call. I remember seeing John Carter just before training camp after his first full year with the Bs ('89-'90 I think) and his offseason workout regimen was . . . . lacking. Great guy to talk to though.

I miss Buzzy’s.
Nothing will ever top Mondo's

n 1968, when former Boston mayor Kevin White first took office, what is now Quincy Market was a dirty, dilapidated, often reeking place, with garbage everywhere, streams of trucks (it was the city's food market), and populated -- especially late at night -- with folks you might not want your mother to meet.

One memory was of Mondo's, where you could get breakfast (notably their "Farmer's Special") any time after midnight. As the Boston Phoenix said, After midnight, you could get breakfast all night at a colorful spot in the central meat market called Mondo’s. (Mondo’s clientele of night-owl students, taxi drivers, artists, and prostitutes has never been reassembled, but its collection of amateur nude oil paintings was a precursor to the Museum of Bad Art.)

Does anyone remember the pizza joint behind the Herald that was open late night? They had huge pizzas and huge slices. Once slice was a meal. It was always packed after the bars closed.

Really stupid since the cops just upgraded the charges to attempted murder. As far as I know he hasn’t been caught.

Bruins pulled the Looch bear tracks clips with him at the restaurant. The incident happened later that night.

Are you talking about Looch going into that place for a sub? (Meatball, I believe.)

Btw, it's properly spelled "Ciao Bella."

Who else did you run into @ Daisy's?

It's been forty plus years, but I believe "Daisy Buchannon" was a character in Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby.

Actually, I don't GH. But would love to hear about it.

I actually never went in. This is 1982. It was on the corner of Boylston, below street level via stairs. Down toward Arlington. In the early 90s, there was an entire store dedicated to... flavored popcorn.

On Boylston Street.

That lasted about a month.

Just received and had set up my new Sony QOLED.

Holy crap! Beautiful.

question - I was able to download for free from Spectrum NESN360.
How is that for Bruins picture as opposed to just regular cable NESN?

well spent the day delivering my ‘old’ Bravia and soundbar to son # 2 apartment. Gotta say he and GF are pretty happy.

We both won.
