Let me start off by saying I don’t think this is a good draft like a lot of people seem to think. I think it’s about average but I’m not a huge fan so far. The 2018 draft was stacked and I can’t see how some like this draft better. Another thing, it’s hard to find video on some euro guys so far like always so my bad if I’m missing some worthy guys. This is only from what I’ve seen so far from the guys I’ve watched or seen quite a bit of

  1. Jack Hughes
  2. Kaapo Kakko
  3. Alex Newhook
  4. Alex Turcotte
  5. Matthew Robertson
  6. Kirby Dach
  7. Cole Caufield
  8. Anttoni Honka
  9. Peyton Krebs
  10. Raphael Lavoie
  11. Trevor Zegras
  12. Bowen Byram
  13. Ryan Suzuki
  14. Dylan Cozens
  15. Maxim Cajkovic
  16. Matt Boldy
  17. Valentin Nussbaumer
  18. Blake Murray
  19. John Beecher
  20. Nolan Foote
  21. Arthur Kaliyev
  22. Victor Soderstrom
  23. Marshall Warren
  24. Cam York
  25. Daniil Gutik
  26. Henri Nikkanen
  27. Jakob Pelletier
  28. Nils Hoglander
  29. Brady Meyer
  30. Simon Holmstrom
  31. Samuel Poulin
HM-Tobias Bjornfot, Sasha Mutala, Alexandrov, Podkolzin (no order)

If anyone does want to see, here’s my final rankings for last years draft and here’s my first ranking of last years draft

I’m doing this one a bit earlier, should be fun to see how much things change compared to my final ranking.

My personal favorite from this draft already is Trevor Zegras. I’ve seen a ton of this kid and he’s usually ranked in the 2nd half of the first round. His offensive creativity is through the roof and his 2 way play is solid. Criminally underrated. Valentin Nussbaumer is also criminally underrated though I can’t really blame anyone for that since he has very little exposure from playing in his league. Watch out for a big year next year from him, I’ve been hyping him up pre-WJC (where he was very good and dangerous consistently despite his point totals.) Lastly, Nils Hoglander is also underrated. Great work ethic, defensive play, hands, and creativity. I’ve been high on this guy for a long time and he’s one of my favorites in this draft.

Someone to watch out for-Daniil Gutik. Insane skill comined with great size. Should be fun to keep an eye on through the year

Cozens will go up your rankings as next season goes on.. The kid is deadly
He’s very good and I do admit I have him too low. Though it’s not that I don’t like him, it’s just that I like everyone ahead of him more.

ya I have no issue at all where you have Cozens placed. He's just my guy that I have that will rise on a lot of rankings as the season goes on!

there are two QMJHLers who IMO will push for a good position in the 1st round....1st is Brent Budgell on Charlottetown....the other is Alex Beaucage on Rouyn Noranda

I am also a fan of Alex Vlasic...for a guy his size he is very good now and as he learns to use his frame more and more will only be that much better. Also I think Spencer Knight is one of the better goalie prospects to come around in a bit and a team IMO if he gets on track will take him 1st round.

I also like Vasili Podkolzin from Russia...

Didn’t include Knight because I can’t rank/evaluate goalies for shit. In my final rankings of 2018 I didn’t include goalies for the same reason.
Vlasic I’ve never really got into but I haven’t really paid attention to him in a while
Big fan of Podkolzin as well but it’s hard to get in games of him

Really like what I saw from Vukojevic late last season, I think he's got big upside and could skyrocket as a top defender in the OHL this season - any thoughts on him?

Budgell will be a top 20 guy by the time December roles around. He's being slept on consistently. Alexandrov gets love on here for some reason, but it's Budgell who is getting it from the scouts in the stands in the Q.

Got a question about this being listed as an article
How and why? What exactly does an article tag do? This is the first time it happened

It just gets a little more exposure, it’s listed under the Articles tab and when feautured allows more eyes to see it.

As for your rankings; it’s quite early, but I think Byram and Kaliyev are too low and Caufield is too high. I like where you have Zegras and Cajkovic rated.

Caufield, Zegras, Beecher and Boldy all way too high.
Pelletier, Podkolzin, Bjornfot, York, Soderstrom, Foote and Kaliyev being that low is surprising
Also surprised you don't have Sheshin on your list.

Why is Zegras way too high? His stats are a bad indication of his ability. He was playing as a third line center.

Have not watched Sheshin yet. This is a list of guys I’ve watched enough to rank them (although extremely early)
