His scoring dried up last spring when the relocation rumors got heavy. He’s not come back from it. I suspect a change of scenery is in order. He’s always been a reliable 20+ goal, 200+ hit, 2+ fight per season, two-way, quasi power forward type. Until the Utah stuff happened. Been in a funk since. Basically playing like a defensive specialist, shut down winger. Not providing offense. I think he needs a fresh start with a new org to rediscover his game.

I think we would have to add a little... having said that I don't do this trade based on how impressive Kulich has been at Center and Buffalos need for Centers.
That's another part of all of this since he's actually looked good in the middle in the NHL. I've been impressed, didn't think it was the path forward but then again, I forget sometimes that he's still only 20.

Love the idea of Crouse in Buffalo. He’s a great fit at 27 years old with 2.5 years of a reasonable cap hit left. Chemistry seems off in Utah for him but that simply makes him potentially available. Don’t think there is much reason for alarm, physically.
Rosen won’t cut it for Utah. The unwillingness to move of Kulich is understandable. But it’ll take a better centerpiece. Seems like there are several options or ways to construct a pretty appealing deal.

The problem is that we need to reduce the number of young players on the roster and I don't even see a place for Kulich. He's playing now, and he would play if we got, for example, a top 6 C and a top 6 W (Kreider/Crouse). No, and we would still have young Benson, Quinn and Peterka on the roster. Honestly, I'm tired of holding on to our prospects and continuing to lose.

The reasons why Utah wants Kulich over Rosen+ are the same you do.
Same. Crouse is an intriguing piece - but letting go of Kulich right now seems like a mistake to me.
I didn’t. One would assume a generic “+” is not going to be better than the actual asset you listed. I said the centerpiece needs to be of higher value than Rosen. Was your “+” going to be a better prospect than Rosen?
Utah is in a similar spot to Buffalo in that hey have had a million picks and prospects and still have a ton more to make. Liquidating Crouse into multiple prospect pieces makes zero sense, in the same manner it makes zero sense for the Sabres to turn a guy like Cozens into multiple future pieces.
You need to offer Utah an appealing one-for-one hockey trade if you expect them to move off Crouse.

Crouse might be interesting, but he’s taken a step back, while Kulich looks on the cusp of cementing himself in the NHL. I’m not sure the value is right, especially with Kulich looking stronger at center this season.
Think it's a pretty even trade.
And honestly, Buffalo's current MO is simply getting the best value out of trades/picks. When you have so many young player/assets, taking a little bit less value to get a player that plays the right way doesn't matter too much in the scheme of things. The longer you wait, the more those assets depreciate since there isn't enough room to put them in ideal spots anyways.
But if Kulich was truly off the table, I imagine Quinn would also be an enticing piece.
Kulich is a great prospect, but cementing himself in the NHL is still a far cry from what Crouse can bring. I'd be very surprised if Crouse simply forgot how to play hockey, he previously had 3 consecutive 20+ goal seasons and no apparent injury.

How about the AHL List does that make you feel better? I am getting the feeling you have no idea what you are talking about.
