It's interesting that they went with Mann in goal, an undersized young Euro-based goalie.

This is a do or die game for the Latvians, as they desperately need points against a disorganized US side, which is going to pick up its pace as the tournament goes along, but tends to start slow.

Wow that US forward group looks absolutely horrible.
D-corps are good though.

Calling 1-1 with a boring shootout here.

It's nice to see that we have chances, even if most are built on broken passes by USA. Defensively, though, we could see a 40-50 shot game for Elvis, it seems. Way too passive. The second goal is a shit SH attempt - just waiting for their mistake.

Several things have to work out for us to win against teams like the US and none of them worked in the 1st period. Elvis was subpar, the whole team was undisciplined and we couldn't capitalize on our own chances. Very disappointing.

The US actually looks coherent, especially on the PP.

It almost feels like we were the team that just arrived from North America and needed a couple of periods to gel together. A lot of scoring chances, a lot of shots on goal, too little, too late.
