GDT: Latvia vs Finland

This can end any which way, including a massive blowout.

Hoping for the best, as at least a point here would greatly improve our play-off chances.

Some offensive line changes for Latvia. The only line unchanged is Darzins-Locmelis-Lavins. Vilmanis relegated to 4th line.

Abols is aiming for maximum intensity and will probably roll all 4 lines evenly. It's also worth noting he replaced the injured D with Samitis, who is another big-bodied forward.

We shall see if this works.

This pool is nuts. Latvia has played hard and needs an upset. Finland is Finland.

I'll sayv2-1 Finland in a tough match.

Yeah, you can't let the opposition forward be in the netfront so alone; of course he will freely screen the goalie however he wants.

Ismo Lehkonen constantly talking about "takakarva" and "alakolmio", feels like a set up for a Fingerpori cartoon strip...

Latvia is actually a pretty good team. This entire group is interesting. All five teams have their high quality. In the other group, Austria is the clear underdog by miles, but that's not the case here.

I liked the way we finished the period, we were clearly the better side for a few minutes there. A little unlucky to be trailing still.

Sloppy 1st period for Finland.
We have 0 -1 lead for now but how long it lasts.

Finland's so called ''powerplay'' was crap
no puck movement, no shots, no scoring chances absolutely NOTHING.
If we wanna win this game the powerplay must be much better than that first periods crap.
